Idk what Caden has to do to be the starter the same goes for Spears as well.

I’m not. Huge BK guy but the idea that he sits freshman for lest talented upper classmen has been proven false. Over and over again. The Rant just won’t let that myth die.
As far as the 2 guys you mentioned, RB was always going to be a committee this year. Durham got his chance last week so let’s see how the carries are handled the next few games before complaining. And maybe Durham is still figuring out pass protection assignments so can’t quite be the primary guy yet.
As far as Spears, I think he started bs SC. Maybe he’s another talented freshman who is still learning all aspects of the position before being out there full time.

Some of you need to get a grip.
Him coming out and saying “Durham will be the starter” means nothing.
He got the most carries in his first road SEC game. He will get more carries moving forward.
Stop trying to find something to get mad about.

Why are so many of you freaking the hell out over this? If Durham continues to run the ball well, he will continue to get plenty of opportunities. If he can't fully be trusted in pass protection yet then he can't be out there the majority of the snaps. Let it play out. Y'all are hanging on to every single word and freaking out over probably nothing.

Some of you clearly skipped your midol in the mornings. Please find something else dumb to complain about off the board elsewhere.

Sorry but there are multiple examples of extremely talented underclassmen coming in for the first time and being huge contributors. See Perkins in 2022. Spears saved 2 breakaway TDs on Saturday. Durham is better than all the starting backs we have. Toviano got his first start against Bama on the road and played very well in a year where we had nothing in the secondary. These are all players that should have been on the field earlier. BK has even said that he trusts upperclassmen who meet all their off field obligations more and prefers to start them. So yes, the guys who are the best at doing their homework and logging their meals and charting their sleep are getting preference over players who are just flat out better athletes. 80% of winning college football games is merely having better athletes.

LSU will continue to run a committee approach.. who is cooking will get the Carries. 1 on the depth chart means nothing

Being a RB is more than just running the ball.

or maybe you need to wipe the sand out your puss and understand that there is more to football than simply being the better athlete. there are assignments, and for the most part upper classman do a better job of knowing those assignments
jesus some of you find any reason to bitch
and he is 100% right on Durham. last week after NSU yall were saying he was a bust, now that he has 1 good game....he is the second coming of LF.
how about we stop acting like 7th grade girls and getting emotional over every little thing and every word
do you really think KD isnt going to get plenty of opportunity? Spears started vs SC, Toviano is just coming back from his off the field BS, perk played tons of games in 22 and he still didnt know assignments, hell im not sure he even does now half the time
so your whole point is complete BS

and these little things are really important for building a championship level program

Cooking? 3 games in Williams and Jackson can’t even find the kitchen.

Your team of Eagle Scouts is soft as frick with their arm tackling and getting big boyed on the offensive line of scrimmage. I'm not convinced that our program of honor students is building killers and BK has even said that they lack that trait.

You are giving examples of true freshmen contributing early as evidence that BK doesn’t play freshmen. Think about that.

Spears has played in every game, and started his third game as a true freshman. Durham led the team in carries in his third game as a true freshman. Toviano played in every game last year. Perkins played in every game in 2022. How much earlier do you think these guys should have played? High school?
Let’s keep going. PJ Woodland has played in every game, with one start, as a true freshman. Trey’Dez Green has played in every game. Reliford has played in every game. Whit Weeks played every game except UF and Grambling last year and had 3 starts. Ashton Stamps playing 11 games with 4 starts. Will Campbell and Mason Taylor were day 1 starters as true freshman. Emery Jones played in every game and became the starter by game 3. We are trying to force touches for Ju’Juan Johnson at a position he didn’t even practice until like 2 weeks ago.
There is overwhelming evidence that Kelly is willing to play and start freshmen. But for some reason tRant is committed to this stupid narrative. If a player becomes a starter week 3 of his freshman season, instead of “man he’s really coming along fast” it’s “why didn’t he start week 2?!?” Seriously?

The people who don't understand how hard it is to come in as freshman and know every aspect of the offense or defense have never played ball at level where the offenses and defenses are complex.
They don't realize that a guy not knowing his assignment is a td for the other team

Oh it's not just freshmen. Weeks is the best linebacker we have had for the last 2 years and he just became a full time starter this week.

Some of you won’t be happy until we start 22 true freshmen.
Then you will bitch about that.
Raw talent doesn’t automatically mean you start or get the most reps.
You have to understand all aspects of the position. Otherwise you severely limit what the OC/DC can do and make it easier for the opponent
As the young guys get experience and learn the system, they will play more.
It’s not some conspiracy by the coaches to keep talent off the field.

You can tell them, but it doesn't fit their narrative.
They said the same thing about Kaleb Jackson last year, now it's "Durham is staring RB!" after 1 game.

Learn to pass block. Learn the plays and your assignments. Those things will get you playing time as a running back. The second as a defensive player.
Also interesting that BK simply said that he isn't "the man" and that we will have RB rotations is taken as he won't play as much as the upperclassmen.
So for this season so far, RB carries are:
William - 23
Jackson - 20
Durham - 16
Carries in the last two games
Caden Durham - 16
Kaleb Jackson - 15
Josh Williams - 14
The rant is pissing and moaning about BK not calling a back "the guy" who has the most carries in the last two games

I get the excitement but Williams averages 5 YPC over his career. Its over 5YPC since BK has gotten here. Caden has played in 2 games. A great game vs Cocks and 0.8YPC vs NIcholls. Coaches who crown starters after one game aren't good coaches. If CD keeps killing it, of course he will be RB1. But LSU doesn't need to rush that.
ETA: especially right now when you have 2 bad teams coming to BR.
