My question is, "If all religions lead to God, then why is he holding a position of religious authority that apparently has no bearing on a person's eternal soul?" Sounds to me that if he believes what he is saying, then he should resign his position.

One of the upper Catholics in The Kingdom of Heaven said to convert now and ask for forgiveness later when they had been overrun by Muslims.

May have been the pope.

Awesome that the Pope has given the thumbs up for my protestant church. I’m sure Catholics going back hundreds of years are very pleased about this too.

Now that I know anything goes, I’m going looking for some Santeria practitioners, or maybe good old fashioned snake handlers.

So my Protestant brother can now be buried in the Catholic cemetery next to his wife?

John 14:6 (ESV) 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

quote:

2 Peter 2:1-3 (ESV) 1 But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. 3 And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.

The pope is sounding a little “false teachery”, almost like he’s the leader of a religion designed to exploit its adherents and to concentrate power and wealth, not lead them to eternal life by faith alone in Christ Jesus. Perhaps those reformers were on to something.

I was done with this pope the moment he injected himself into climate change and suggested that we pay carbon tax in America.

The typical jesuit social stuff is one thing, but yeah if this is a fair summary of what he said...

The modern religion of Secular Progressivism does not lead to GOD. It leads us into the fiery depths of Acheron.

This Pope preaches Secular Progressivism. It's not hard to see where this is all going. It makes me sad and angry.

That's definitely not the teaching of Christ and the Apostles.

Why would Jesus even send His disciples out as missionaries into the world if everyone could find their way to God without the gospel? Why is the gospel "good news" in the first place if everyone can go to Heaven without Jesus?

The gospel is precisely good news because everyone sins and has fallen short of the glory of God and is at enmity with the Father because of sin. Jesus as the God-man had to satisfy God's wrath against sin on the cross, and it's only through trusting in His sacrifice that Jesus' death actually atones for sin. The Muslim is not trusting in Jesus' death on the cross, and neither is the Hindu or Sikh. Neither is the Jew or the Jehovah's Witness.

The Pope is an antichrist for sure if he is teaching this anti-Christian message.

Who gives a rip what the pope thinks or says?

Being atheist is so much less stressful.

In Romans, there's a whole thing you know... about causing a brother to stumble.
