Growing up I wasn't the biggest race fan. Then as I got older I'd watch the race with my dad, who was a huge Earnhardt fan. I'd like watching the end of the race, which is always the best part. I'm not someone who would be the best judge here to say who is the best or goat, but Earnhardt was definitely built different then other dirvers. I mean there was a reason why he was called the Intimidator. Of course you also have Richard Petty. This guy was also special. So, folks, who is the GOAT? Dale, Richard, Or Someone Else?

Not knocking anyone else, but Petty did it all, and did it first.

At Talladega or Daytona (but not the Daytona 500): Earnhardt. Every damn day of the week.
Otherwise, Petty
Otherwise, Petty

Petty competed from 1958 to 1992 and won 200 races.

I firmly believe that the three most iconic drivers in the history of NASCAR were Richard Petty, Dale Earnhardt, and Jeff Gordon.

1. Dale Earnhardt
2. Richard Petty
3. David Pearson
4. Jeff Gordon
5. Cale Yarborough
(I would have Jimmie Johnson at #6.)

Petty and it isn't remotely close.

Petty is and will always be "The King" for what he did to put the sport on the map.
Earnhardt Sr. was the GOAT.
But if I had to choose one driver to win a race for me when my life and the lives of my family were riding on him winning that race for me, it would be David Pearson.
I know that's not a simple answer but it's not a simple question.

Petty was babe Ruth who basically was the sport. Earnhardt more like Barry bonds who came later with better equipment than everyone else but both greatest in their own era.
Also I know nothing about nascar so don’t hate me if this is all wrong.
