We have 4 dogs, a cat, a bearded dragon and a cockatiel.
Somehow this whole zoo gets along pretty well. The cat is a ruthless varmit killer but is cool with the bird and even let's it ride around on his back.
The bird responds to this generosity by walking over to the cat when he's trying to nap and picking at him until he gets annoyed and moves.
My daily routine is to take the lizard out and put him in the sunshine and turn the little house on the prairie channel on for the bird and close the door. They're perfectly happy and the lizard gets to run laps in the room without me worrying he going to fall down the stairs.

One black tuxedo cat with some attitude (who is actually a huge softy)
And a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who is literally the sweetest thing I’ve ever met. We will never have another type of dog going forward.

A dog and a cat. I’m in the minority here but when these animals go over the rainbow bridge I am DONE. Appreciate animals, especially dogs, but with little kids and such when I come home to diarrhea shite on the floors and stuff I just can’t help but think if they weren’t here I wouldn’t be cleaning this.

Two dogs and an outdoor (neutered) cat that doesn't let anybody near it.
One dog (mine) earns it's keep by blood trailing deer, guarding the garden, retrieving dove, and being all around good natured. She craps/pisses in the same spot in the back corner of the yard so it's easy to pick up. The other (my wife's) is a menace to society. He eats the garden, attacks ratchet straps, power tools, and boat winches. He sh*ts on the edge of the patio and barks at any wildlife on the TV. The only plus to him is that he sleeps about 22 hours per day and hates men so I know my wife can't have Jody over when I'm hunting.

I have too much trouble taking care of myself and mom’s 86 so neither one of us is capable of taking care of a pet so no pets for us.
I still say my favorite pet was a big old Oscar fish. Bought him from Walmart even when he was right about the size of my thumb. He ended up about a foot and half long and several inches thick, weighed a few pounds.
He could go from almost pure white to a velvety black, or velvety forest green, or completely bright orange, or various patterns and mixes of all his colors. Appearance was dependent on his mood and feelings and he was quite moody. He could be very demanding at times, especially if he wanted something like attention or a water change. Always kept a small variety of foods as his appetite would change.
Best thing was, no barking and no tearing up the furniture along with no excessive veterinary bills.
