WTF is this funnel cake crap and when did that start? Sounds like something a carpet-bagger would come up with.

I grew up on elephant ears at the ark-la-miss fair and as far as I'm concerned that's the only deep fried fat for me.

It's a fried cake that is poured through a funnel. Therefore funnel cake. It's not complicated.

Elephant ear is a leafy plant and funnel cake is something to make you fat.

Never thought to try and eat one, but I weed whacked some elephant ears once at our camp and never itched so much in my life. Had to dive into the canal for relief.

I've only ever heard them called funnel cakes, and I grew up in Alabama.

An elephant ear grows green in the yard
A funnel cake costs you green, fried in lard.

Never heard of an elephant ear. Had to look it up. Looks stupid and inferior to a funnel cake.

Sorry, Team Funnel Cake all day long.

Apparently it's like a flattened out cinnamon roll that's fried

It's probably not bad but I'd take French toast or beignets any day

Elephant ears are toxic. My son took a chomp out of one, only time through raising two kids we had to call the Poison Control Center.

Funnel Cakes IMO, will want to see what Fat Bastard has to say though.

It is but it is also a name for a southern version of a sopapilla. I prefer elephant ears to funnel cakes, better crunch.
