Don't sit on your arse all day and Sub 2K calories is all it takes to lose weight.

I bought a box of Little Debbie oatmeal snacks. 310 calories each. I can eat 2 at a time easy.

I drink an extra day’s worth of calories every week in beer.

By my math you can have about 6 and a half oatmeal snacks a day to get to 2,000 calories.

That’s two for breakfast lunch and dinner. Should be doable.

Caloric deficit isn't the end all be all. Eating high sugar and high fat foods is worse.

Fried catfish or Popeyes.

You can’t just not eat it, that’d be crazy.

Someone once asked Big Z how many calories he consumed in a day and he said, "Oh, I don't know......all of them?". There was a long stretch of time where he was the strongest person on the planet.

Did I hear Subway? Yes, I’d like a full loaf of bread with everything on it.

The dirty little secret no one tells you is that you should eat more and move less to fit in with your more popular friends.

What's so hard about consuming less than 2000cal/day?

1) The typical American diet consists of foods which are high calorie, but low satiety. Eating 1500 calories in a Taco Bell binge is easy to do and you’ll be hungry again later in the day where even if you exercise some discipline and eat a “normal” meal, it would be a struggle to stay under 2k.

2) Mindlessness of consumption. This is why self-reported dietary data is so unreliable because people are notoriously bad about tracking what they eat - whether intentionally or unintentionally. Yeah you had a “salad” for lunch, but you forgot to calculate the ranch dressing, ham bits, and shredded cheese you put on top.

3) Laziness / Lack of Discipline. Food culture is around us constantly. You’ll drive by 10 fast food restaurants on the way to work. Julie in HR brought donuts into the office, so maybe you sneak 1-2. Boss man is riding your arse, no time for lunch, better scarf down a snickers and coke to get through the afternoon. It’s been a rough day, you’re dreading having to cook when you get home, so just grab a burger and fries on your way home.

4) Ignorance of one or more of the above.

BONUS: fad diets have fricked people up for generations. You’ve got carnivore bros telling you that fruit is bad because MUH CARBS, while some vegan queer is whining about red meat. If we all ate eggs and steak and pineapple and drank milk, we’d be much better off than slurping down the latest slop with a trendy name like “Luma Bar”.

Just do the Joaquin Phoenix Joker diet…

He said all he ate for 3 months straight each day was just 1 apple, green beans, and asparagus with lettuce.

He lost 52 pounds in those three months prepping for that role.

Even Big Z realized he was fat.

For breakfast I like to eat on the go, usually while driving to work. I alternate between a Natures Bakery fig bar, an apple, Quaker Oats Chewy granola bar, or Little Debbie Oatmeal Crème Pie. All are 200 calories or less.

For lunch, again I like to eat on the go, usually while driving to see a customer. I alternate between a Taco Bell bean burrito, Wendy’s Chicken Wrap, or Wendy’s Jr Cheeseburger Deluxe. Each are not only cheap but less than 400 calories

This leaves me roughly 1600 calories for supper. We never fry anything at home. Always have vegetables as sides unless it’s a casserole or pasta dish like spaghetti or something. Just make sure I eat reasonable size portions.

Drink water during the day and a glass of sweet tea with supper. Treat myself to something sweet like Andy’s or slice of pie/cake once a week, usually on Saturday night. Never drink beer.

I’m 50 and actually do very little exercise other than walking around the neighborhood in the evening with the wife and about 2 hrs of yard work every Saturday morning. Have lost 60 pounds over the last year doing this. Down from 320 to 260.

Was in great shape when I graduated high school.
6 Ft tall and 195 lbs. By time I was early 30’s I had gotten up to 270 and followed same regimen above but also did P90X and got all the way back down to right at 200lbs. Stayed that way til my early 40’s before letting myself go again.

It is all a mindset and completely within your control. Fat Asses are Fat Asses because they choose to be. I have been in great shape and a fat arse at different points in my life and it was solely my mindset which dictated which one I was.

I skip breakfast and lunch so I can slam 8-10 miller lites with dinner. 2k calories is no problem.
