I get pumped for every Zelda game. I will definitely be getting it. I was thinking I'd play this one with my daughter like we did the Princess Peach game, but this looks a bit too high level for her. Hell, I'm a little worried with everything going on in my life if I'll be able to fully grasp all of the echo options.

I love how Nintendo never stops innovating, especially with the Zelda series. Keeps it fresh.

And this looks like a BOTW/LttP mashup with the remastered Links Awakening graphics, should be a lot of fun.

Is anybody else going to play this today? My Switch is just teasing me as I have about 10 meetings today.

I have it installed. I plan on playing it this evening and likely tomorrow as I expect my kids school to be cancelled from the storms.

I'm relying on yall to tell me if I should buy it. I pretty much buy every Zelda game but this one I am a little hesitant.

I like the echoe concept for puzzle solving, I am just not sure how I feel about it for combat purposes, seems a little to indirect for me. Just wish she had a little melee weapon for quick and easy enemies. I understand she will have limited sword usage with a time limit

But what I always loved about zelda, even the smaller games, was the balance of puzzle solving and combat

Hand up, my boys and I couldn't beat Link's Awakening without a guide. We were so frustrated early on so I showed them the ways of Walkthroughs.

They have a few different art styles for their Zelda games, and I think they all work just fine.

Yes, I have one. My boys play it primarily. I discovered a while a go that I simply don't like playing anything on that system. Metroid Prime got released, one of my all time favorite games, and I was only able to get a few hours into it. I really have no reason why I dislike it so much, but it's a thing, and even if they DID finally release the Wind Waker and Twilight Princess remasters, I'd have to give serious thought as to if it would be worth it.

I have it installed but haven't started it up yet. With a 7:30 kickoff tomorrow in Tuscaloosa, I'm sure I'll get a chance to play it before our game.

I got through the first dungeon last night. I am really enjoying the game. I thought at first that it would be annoying having to echo enemies to fight other enemies, but it is actually fun trying to come up with a strategy to defeat things.

For example, there is a big pre-boss battle in the first dungeon. I was echoing a spear moblin, and it just kept hitting the shield. I realized that I could do that, then while the enemy was occupied, I'd echo another spear moblin behind the enemy. It worked well.

It is definitely much different than any other Zelda game. You do get the ability to use a sword fairly early in the game. I know that would be an issue for a lot of people. I would still imagine anyone that buys every Zelda game will get enjoyment from this game.

My only gripe so far, and this was likely the same in Link's Awakening for Switch, I just can't remember if it was the same. I don't like how the edges of the screen are blurry. I'm sure there is a purpose to this, but it just annoys me when I see it.

I feel like the Link's Awakening HD remaster was a tech demo to set up development for this game.

I made it to about the same place. So far the combat has been my biggest gripe, just running around waiting for the echoes to finally kill an enemy is slightly frustrating.

Did the same thing for the pre-boss fight in the first dungeon but I used a Darknut echo that worked pretty well.

So far the bats have damaged me more than anything. Can’t reliably hit them with a rock and they move around so much the spears have trouble hitting them.

In my opinion they are overdoing it with the treasure chests, feel like I’ve opened 30 in the first hour of play.

There is a targeting system. I don't think I've ever tried it with a rock, but I know I've used it with the grab thing you can do with Tri.
