Any good places to try out besides the huge resorts everyone knows like Breckenridge, Park City, Vail, Aspen Etc?

We enjoyed Purgatory too. There's several in Utah as well not far from the SLC airport.

Canada has a lot like Revelstoke, Kicking Horse, Sun Peaks, Panorama, Red Mountain, Whitewater, Castle Mountain, Fernie and Big White.

I’ve enjoyed Bridger bowl and snow king. I hear wolf creek is cool too.

Wolf creek is great.

Ski cooper is also great, albeit a small and limited mountain. An outstanding place to actually learn to ski.

I've skied all over CO, and in Park City, UT. Took the family to Flagstaff and skied the Arizona Snowbowl over our Mardi Gras break. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Very small but enjoyable.

Purgatory outside Durango and make a day trip over to Wolf Creek. Great snow and relatively small lines

Anyone gone to Whitefish? That’s what we are currently exploring.

I am a fan of Arapaho Basin. And on a smaller local level we enjoy Ski Cooper in Leadville. Cooper is no frills but it’s extremely affordable and often empty.

I skied there during Spring Training a couple years back in early March and the snow was actually great. It is pretty small but kind of a hidden gem just a couple hours north of Phoenix. We went skiing all day then drove back to town in time to catch a spring training game.

I am too, Loveland too because it was so easy out of Boulder where I lived, and Keystone if we wanted a bigger mountain.

A-Basin is great as long as you can ski advanced/expert terrian and can handle the elevation. The toughest blues are blacks at any other mountain, that said the place has an amazing vibe. No fancy condos or lodges, a true skiers mountain.

To me off the radar options are places that don’t have hotels and vacation rentals. They’re mostly a place just people that live near by ski. In Boise, Bogus Basin checks that box. A season long pass at Bogus Basin can be as little as $500. Night time passes that are only good after dark are even less.
In Boulder I think of Eldora. I rarely come across people who don’t live nearby there.

This is where we went when I took my south Florida kids skiing for the first time. I had been there as a kid. Such a great place to ski and learn to ski.
