Not bashing btw. Just curious. To me its a festival of sub par sports that dont really matter. Has no meaning for me.

The obscure sports and the nationalism. Also enjoy endearing stories of athletes overcoming hard times to win some glory.

based on? What makes judo less on par with football? What makes archery less on par with football? The fact you don’t like them as much?

I like seeing nations compete against each other even in obscure sports. My son is actually getting into handball. He thinks it’s neat. Of course beach volleyball is his favorite sport. I love that kid.

Watching athletes at the very top of their sport compete is always interesting no matter the sport.

Because I’m a sucker for nationalism expressed through a competitive/athletic setting.

I don’t care if you’re completely different from me politically, if you’re competing against someone from another country and you’re proudly representing my country’s I want you to win. But maybe more consequentially I want other countries to lose.

For the opportunity to watch sports that should be on ESPN 3-7 on a regular basis, but aren’t because we need more of Jamele Hill telling me how wyte pepol are responsible for all of societies ills.

1) there isn't much else going on in the world sports wise.

2) I love cheering for our country.

3) I don't watch everything but this is the only time that Beach Volleyball, Rugby, Swimming, Track, and Gymnastics are featured on mainstream TV.

This is a good point. Sports only matter if you care so the Olympics matter for anyone who cares.

I’ve had the opportunity to work with Olympic athletes and to know a couple. It absolutely matters. And a good chunk of these athletes compete on the collegiate level as well, especially with NIL allowing them to maintain their amateur status while receiving endorsements.

Some of y’all need to touch grass. These folks are fun to watch achieve their ultimate goal.

To watch USA lose in every shooting discipline possible because we have more resources than any country, we have to Americanize our shooting sports and 98% of gun ranges in the USA don’t throw international targets!
