I vote 1990s Nebraska. But you need to add 1970s USC.

Now that Bama is going to go back to mediocrity we are going to get bombarded with Bama fans talking about the glory days

Do we?
Because as dominant as Alabama was in the 2010s, my vote would probably go to that Oklahoma run in the 50s. That 47-game winning streak is difficult to ignore.

Such a great run by Texas and Oklahoma winning 1 championship in ten years.

The nostalgia in me would say that those Miami and FSU teams were incredible. They played some insanely difficult regular season schedules during that time. It’s also hard to ignore a 47 game winning streak.
However, what Saban did at Bama in the playoff era was ridiculously impressive. Considering he (almost) always had to win an SEC championship game first and then beat two legit teams to win the championship. It’s hard to objectively argue against that run being the most impressive of all time.

The top two are clearly Yale
1880-1889 Yale: 87-2-4 (.935) overall record, eight national championships
1880-1889 Yale: 116-7-3 (.921) overall record, five national championships

Bama will not be mediocre, but they won’t be what saban turned them into in the 2010’s. There is just too much competition, openly buying recruits, and and while they have a very good coach, he’s not Saban.
They will still be very good, but I can’t wait for a few 9-3/8-4 seasons sprinkled into 10+ win ones and see them melt.

50% of his National Championships during the decade in question were won without even having played in the SEC Championship. So that statement really doesn't fit very well with this period.

Would anybody take this over LSU or Florida during the same time?

Texas doesn’t belong on there they went to four Holiday Bowls in that period

And we haven't even scratched the surface of the post Saban era.
