How long does it last if kept in refrigerator?

Should be good as long as it doesn't smell rancid.

I refrigerate mine too, but my grandmother always left it on the counter. Of course, she went through it so fast, probably didn't age much.

I leave mine on the counter. Sometimes for quite a while. Same with butter

It lasts even longer if you strain it

Googled this a couple of weeks ago...
Up to 6 months in the fridge.
Indefinitely in the freezer.

Refrigerator, who knows? My parents just kept it in one of those bacon grease holders that stayed on the stove.

That's how I keep mine. The can looks like an old style drip coffee can. It is aluminum with a removable round tray that catches any bacon bits as the hot grease drips into the can.
I go through it pretty steady between making roux, using the oil in my cast iron pan when making cornbread or frying eggs.

I have an old jalapeño jar in the fridge for bacon grease. I usually use all the bacon during gumbo season, it gets thrown in the dishwasher and sanitized, and refills and used throughout the year until next gumbo season.

My grandmother had one. I thought it WAS a coffee maker until today. I never knew there was such a contraption made for bacon grease.
And to answer the OP, I've kept mine in a mason jar in the refrigerator for probably the last 10 years and have never emptied it. Every time we cook bacon, we just pour the grease on top and refill what has been used.

I make crackling and I usually have 2-3 gallons of grease after cooking 60lbs of fat. I'll put it in old protein tubs and keep refrigerated and keep some in a small boiling pot with the lid. I'll use the grease in the pot rather quickly before starting to tap into my storage in the refrigerator.

You can also add some water to it (after it has cooled some) then shake it well and put it in fridge upside down. Then in a few hours pour off the water and most of the debris will be in the water and you are left with white gold.

I use a can I got from Amazon. It has a removable strainer that fits on top

Thanks for posting.
I recently found a small jar in the back of the fridge. Heated a dab up and tasted fine but was still weary of using as I have no idea how long its been back there.
