Died in my arms today. My LSU-rooting applehead chihuahua and my good boy. I knew this was coming, but this heartbreak is hitting me like a bag of bricks

there's no hearbreak in the world like that one

nothing helps right now, but eventually all you'll think about is the joy he brought you

It sounds like you gave him a good life.

sorry brother. Theres not much that matches a dog's love for his people. It will get better and you will have the good memories.

I thought so, then I lost my mom in my arms. A year later I got a call from my balling crying niece that my 18year old nephew had died.

I'm a big dog guy and a softy, but there are definitely things that hurt worse.

Take solace in the fact that he's humping the giant leg in the sky now.

He wasn't alone...and that's worth a lot. I'm sure he knew he was loved. So sorry for your loss.

Sorry GC. They are God's most underrated gift to us. We really can't love them enough.

You ain’t a real man unless you have a dog named “beaux” or “gumbo”, have a bmi in the 30s, and wear your best purple PFG to Longhorn Steakhouse for a night out with the ole lady.

I am so very sorry for the loss of your buddy. We lost our Toy Poodle, Angel, 3 years ago. She was 17 yrs. and 4 months old. We have her urn on our bedroom dresser. I still think of her and tear up every day. We miss her so much.
Some people will tell you to get another puppy right away, some will tell you to wait a while. We just can not bring ourselves to get another one, it was so heartbreaking. Maybe we will one day, but not for now.

Mate he's playing with Sir Winston in heaven and they're both rocking their LSU jerseys! You were a great dad and he had a great life. :brohug:

Put down my wife’s dog of 15yrs a few weeks ago. Thought I could do it with a straight face, but cried like a bitch. He’s in a much better place now, but man that sucked a lot.

Eta: at the vet. He was in decline for the last year so it was expected eventually but still choked me up
