Gov. Landry signs new bill. Ten Commandments to go up in every classroom.

Wow. I don't like the guy, but I kind of like this law
I wouldn't have liked it at the peak of my secular thinking ten years ago. But I've realized since then that political neutrality is a myth. So is pluralism.
Even still, I suppose putting the Commandments in every single public classroom may violate the rights of many.
So even though pluralism is impossible, we can probably do ok without a copy of the laws in public schools (as long as there's nothing equal and opposite hanging in its place)...
Very interesting nonetheless.

Dumb virtue signaling that will only result in Landry’s lawyer buddies accumulating a small fortune from the taxpayers’ pockets only to lose every legal challenge resulting in the policy itself getting repealed

Just a little pandering to the dullards while he helps trial lawyers loot the state.

Yesterday‘s 6 page thread about this
My 70 year old mom literally just texted me this headline adding “I’m loving our new Governor!”
Yay boomers.

Good. Get God and prayer back in schools. Don’t like it? Leave.

Looks like he’s got the state figured out. A little pandering to idiots like you with stupid shite like this (that won’t even fly in a 6-3 conservative scotus) so he can suck off the trial lawyers.
Louisiana is hopeless

Stop with this stupidity. Fix the real problems. You can start with insurance rates.

Could not care less.
I do care that Landry is a POS that spends all day gurgling Trial Attorney spunk.

This is not a uniquely Louisiana issue. How is the government going to "fix" insurance rates?

I feel like there’s 25 other issues that could’ve been tackled outside of this one. Just seems like a blatant angle that knows will pick a fight.

If LA only had the issues other states had, I’d be thrilled.

Which he did to deflect from his far more important taking it up the arse from the trial lawyers.
More meaningless 'social conservative' bullshite. Everything of actual substance is still very fricked.

Uhh… school principals are not state employees, except for the couple of state run schools we have.
And a lot of the issues stem from policies and unfunded mandates placed on schools by Daddy Baton Rouge.
