Any of you ever have any exotic pets?

All we have ever had is normal stuff like cats, dogs, fish, gerbils, hamsters, salamanders, etc.
I knew a guy who had a pig named Bill after Bill Clinton. He kept the pig indoors and fed him banana chips as treats. I think the pig was actually pretty affectionate and was loyal buddy to him for a long time.
Anyone ever have anything else that was actually very unusual as a pet? How difficult was it and was the reward worth having the pet?

Had a goth freak girlfriend in graduate school. She loved to be choked and slapped and humiliated and would sometimes chain herself up. She came with her own tackle box with cuffs and a leash.
She actually cleaned up after herself and would sometimes vacuum my house and do my laundry. It was a bit of a roller coaster 6 months, but I don't regret it.
Never really kept her penned or anything. One day, she was just gone.

i have had a laundry list through my life.
birds (chickens, geese, parrots), turtles, snakes, lizards, squirrels, flying squirrel, rats, guinea pigs, horses and of course dogs and cats. im sure im forgetting something.
grew up with a mom who loved animals. Its no wonder i became a veterinarian.
each has its upsides and downsides. some are harder than others. All are rewarding in their own way.

She would do anything on command. Begged to be disciplined. But in the end, she wasn't loyal

Not me but a friend has a cockatoo that he got when it was about 6 months old and it is 36 years old now. I was shocked when he told me it’s age and that they thought it was a male but found out a couple of years ago that it was female.

I would probably have a doctor check it out if it is purple.

My son wants a crested gecko for his birthday so I am sure we will get one.
I want a tortoise but my wife won't let me get one.

I had a raccoon when I was about 13.
Father of a girl friend who worked in Grand Chenier found two kits by themselves. I raised it until it got too damn big and started biting the crap outta everyone and took it to the marsh and let it go.
I’d walk it on a leash around the neighborhood. Got some funny looks.

Dad had a pet 'coon named Buddy when he was a kid. Mom and Dad had a pet groundhog named Groundy Lou for the first two or three years they were married. She'd ride around on the dash of Dad' 57 Thunderbird when he had the top down and the air flowing, and she'd sleep in the floorboard when she got tired.
My nephew has all kinds of assorted geckos, newts, lizards, chameleons, and snakes. We all thought he was going to study biology or zoology and specialize in herpetology, but NOOOOOOO!!! He decided to study architecture at Mississippi State. He'll start his fifth year this year. Considering State's fifth year architecture students do their studies in Jackson, he might need to invest in a couple rattlesnakes for home protection.

Had a chameleon named Jhon (yes, spelled like that) as a kid. It was a gift from my grandmother and my first pet. When it was shedding its skin, my mom thought it had died and threw it away
In college I had a hedgehog named Sonic. He was an ornery lil' fella so I gave him away.
