Just saw on the Weather Channel about a wildfire that broke out in Arizona due to the extreme heat there. I’ve heard before from someone who lived there that when you step outside in Arizona, it’s like an oven blast hits you.

We all know how much the Louisiana heat and humidity sucks. For those who have been to AZ, how would you compare it? I know it’s essentially dry vs humid climate, but which would you say is worse?

vs Florida heat. St. Augustine in July is not a joke.

Arizona heat sneaks up and quickly dehydrates if you don't constantly drink water.

Wet heat is worse than dry heat, but they both suck.

I live in AZ and when I visit my mom in the Florida panhandle I feel like I'm going to die.

We were at Disneyworld two weeks ago and it was 98 and 99 in Orlando with humidity. Might be the hottest I've ever been in my life.

Arizona feels like a Sauna.
LOUISIANA feels like a Steam room.

The dry heat can bake but the suffocating oppressive wet heat is worse IMO.

I've lived in both and what you have in LA but not AZ is shade, rain, and breeze. AZ heat may be dry, but the sun is relentless, it chases you down everywhere.

I can take the humidity when it's paired with tall trees and green plants.

I've been in El Paso the last year, which is about 10 degrees cooler than say Phoenix, but still hot. It is 106 today here.

The humidity is worse because you can't cool off easily. On these 100+ degree days here though when the wind is blowing 5-10 mph it literally feels like you are baking in an over.

Hot is hot, and hot sucks.

Depends on what I am doing.

While AZ may get hotter the mornings and evenings are still cool. In La, morning and evenings can be like soup, although it's been quite nice lately.

The last few days here in South LA have actually been a fairly dry heat. It's brutal but in the shade it's actually kinda nice.
The humidity will return soon and make you feel like your soul is being drained from your body.

Our senior trip to Vegas and grand canyon I can say at 106 we were doing fine and kicking everyone else in the group that was from there's arse hiking....

Until the dehydration kicked in. Never felt the sweat and talked shite all day when they stopped to drink.

They got the last laugh. Cramping was terrible

Early mornings on the Northshore have been relatively nice.

Went hiking in Arizona a couple summers back. As others have said, it didnt feel bad at all in the shade due to lack of humidity. But in direct sunlight, an oven is a good comparison. I also found that it was much easier to lose track of staying hydrated in the Arizona heat and ended up getting extremely dehydrated. Have never had that happen in Louisiana or Florida

Been to Tucson a few times for work. It’s hot but compared to Louisiana it’s nice.

I prefer the dry heat of Arizona, but I’ve been in Vegas when it hit 115. At some point, it’s too damn hot and you are just in casinos all day.

Yep

The wind out there will dry you out just as quick.
