State Police Troop NOLA Cleaning Up the City

A citywide chase through New Orleans by the new Troop NOLA ended Tuesday afternoon with two suspects in custody and one civilian injured in Lakeview, Louisiana State Police said.
It was at least the second chase by Troop NOLA in as many days to culminate in a crash and arrests.
The chase started in Central City when troopers saw a Dodge Charger being driven recklessly at Carondelet and Calliope streets, according to Sgt. Kate Stegall. They pursued the vehicle to Lakeview, where the driver struck two civilian vehicles at West End Boulevard and Polk Street. One person suffered minor injuries, Stegall said.
Troopers took the Charger driver and passenger into custody. They found drugs and weapons in that vehicle and determined that it was stolen. Troop NOLA has not released names or charges for the arrested individuals, nor specifics on the chase's duration.
The dedicated troop for New Orleans, which Gov. Jeff Landry has pushed, recently began running proactive patrols around St. Roch and other areas of the city.
Keep up the good work boys.

Yep. Crashes are better than no consequences at all which is what NOPD brought to table

I’m very happy that whoever is in charge of this is allowing them to chase the criminals. LaToya has to be so pissed off about this and that’s what makes it so great.

And then the charges will be dropped by the DA

They're still going to be arraigned in NO courts, though, right?

Nope. It goes to the Louisiana AG office.

Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill and Orleans Parish District Attorney Jason Williams signed an agreement to "reboot New Orleans and make sure New Orleans is safe"
Murrill and Williams met Monday to sign the agreement between the two offices.
The partnership was first announced in November when Gov. Jeff Landry introduced the Louisiana State Police senior command staff and superintendent.
The agreement will give the Louisiana Attorney General's office the authority to prosecute any and all criminal matters in Orleans Parish resulting from an arrest or investigation conducted by Louisiana State Police or any law enforcement under LSP.

And this is why anyone who says “just let them go; you have their information” is a fricking idiot.

At least the charger can’t be released back into the wild.

I thought I read that the state AG’s office would be prosecuting any crimes involving state law enforcement.

This is the best part about the troopers being in the City

Kind of like when the Katrina hood rats went to Houston and discovered committing crimes resulted in getting locked up without bail. Or shot, occasionally dead.
Perfect

The AG is prosecuting, but it's still in that horrible courthouse.

Can we do BR too? The NOLA thugs are just going to relocate down I10 when they realize they can't get away with shite in New Orleans but they can in Battin Rudge.

In fairness to NOPD, the consent decree completely neutered the department and the criminals knew it.
Now you have alot of young criminals who grew up not understanding what New Orleans was like when NOPD could chase, and the state police are even more aggressive. Combine that with JPSO, St. Bernard, St. Tammany, etc all assisting when these guys flee and It’s certainly been fun to watch.
Especially since Latoya can’t take the credit.
