Went thru a car wash today with the free vacuum stations after the wash. Vacuum bays were almost all full, with multiple people with a bucket full of tire shine, wheel cleaner, interior cleaner, microfiber cloths, etc.

Not only do they hog the vacuuming areas, but they leave a big oil slick from their wheel/tire cleaning products.

You’d rather me do it in my driveway? Lol

You know they have kids on minimum wage who pressure wash every few days right?

I mean cheaper than buying a vacuum, so buy your own vacuum if you’re upset enough to post about it.

When did cleaning a dirty car become “detailing?” Is it because the people doing it are so detail-oriented?

free vacuum

they aren't "free"
cost of running and maintaining them are included in the cost of the wash.

so if you wash but don't vacuum, you paid for something you didn't use.

I am pretty involved in the self serve car wash business and a lot of wash operators will post signs and tell people they can't do that BUT, and it's a big but, I'll also tell you that so many people act like such gigantic jackasses anytime you tell them no about anything that a lot of wash operators eventually just get worn down and don't bother saying shite bc they get tired of being made to feel like they are gigantic assholes for doing so

The state of the American public is indescribably pathetic

Actually most self serve car wash owners are relatively small time (in comparison to the big tunnels) and like have to do it themselves
