WAFB
quote:

Gov. Jeff Landry named five locals to serve as aldermen for the newly incorporated city of St. George, WAFB-TV reports.

Here’s the council:

District 1, Steven Monachello
District 2, Ryan Heck
District 3, Max Himmel
Alderman at-large Richie Edmonds
Alderman at-large Patty Cook

“Each of these folks have been heavily involved with the incorporation effort and are dedicated to ensuring the success of the city of St. George,” Landry says. “I am confident in their leadership and am looking forward to the work they will accomplish alongside Mayor Yates and Police Chief Morris.”

Who are these jabronis? Only one I recognize is Ryan Heck.

And speaking of, I'm actually surprised his wife let him do anything in public office again after the Ashley Madison debacle. Or did she believe that he just signed up "as a joke"??

When was our election?
Is this going to be Ukraine or a democracy like Russia?

No, you just don’t understand your state’s Constitution, which isn’t surprising

October 12, 2019 was when the people of St George overwhelmingly voted to become their own city from the unincorporated part of Baton Rouge. Seems like this should have been done a while back, any idea what the hold up was? Surely no one was trying to overturn the democratic process.

Ryan Heck? Really???

Didn’t this guy threaten to beat up a constituent because he disagreed with him at a council meeting?

Thanks, Governor Landry.

Hey genius, Governor appoints interim positions for any new city. There will be an election, eventually, but first the details of the city have to be worked out and off and running.

I’m a bit surprised I got left out. Maybe there is still time to join the circus. I’ve got tricks, damn it.
