The passive aggressive attacks in this thread are delicious.

Hey wait a sec. I've been one of the biggest SG supporters there is. I signed the petition both times, voted for it, campaigned for it, etc. I think y'all may have misconstrued my post as dogging out the movement which it very much was not intended to.

I just see the name "Ryan Heck" and I'm thinking "retread". I think we can do a lot better than that.

We need to hurry up and get to the elections so we can vet qualified, NEW blood. That was all I was saying.

I will accept the nomination if I get a half day each Friday and get to help design the machine gun pillboxes we will build at strategic border spots with Baton Rouge.

I have no problems with the selection process, but I agree. Let’s keep the momentum going,

But there is work for the new council that needs to be done first.

For instance even though there are three district councilmen appointed, the district lines have to be drawn and I’d bet there are legalities involved in doing this.

any idea what the hold up was? Surely no one was trying to overturn the democratic process

No idea. Completely perplexed.

And speaking of, I'm actually surprised his wife let him do anything in public office again after the Ashley Madison debacle. Or did she believe that he just signed up "as a joke"??

There will be an election. Temporary appointments of political office in certain situations until an election can be held is not uncommon. Have you been living under a rock?

Sounds like he'd fit right in here.

I don’t want anyone to forget about that shady surplus property sale where the corner of Bluebonnet and Jefferson was sold for $10,000 over Thanksgiving weekend 2016. There was only one bidder for this lucrative corner lot.

Mr Heck was involved in this “surplus” declaration. The lot on the other corner sold for $1 million. This was our city property (taxpayer-owned) that was sold for $10 grand.

We should be very wary of this alderman

Honestly - this was the entire point of my thread. Our new city can do a LOT better than Ryan Heck. The longer he's able to touch anything here, the more fricked up he can make it.

Let's hurry up and get to the elections before Mr. Ashley Madison finds a way to enrich himself in it.

Thxs for the reminder. That alone would make me look for an alternative council person.

It also reminded me that Mary Olive boasted that all she had to do was write the letter and the Parish would get the property back.

Remember? I do. Well did she ever do what she said she would do?

Exactly.

I feel I'm owed an apology from all my new neighbors for attacking/downvoting me. More importantly - I was worried our beautiful new city had some kind of admiration for Ryan Heck.

I'm pleased to know we're all on the same page. So come on. Let's get to the elections here to get him away from anything important post-haste.

You mean the Ukraine democracy where Zelensky cancelled elections?

Yes, just like the British Democracy did when they were under a mere threat of invasion.

Heck is representing district 2 now. What does that mean? Nothing until they draw district lines.

I suspect when it’s time there will be a lot of candidates running for mayor and the five council seats.
