She'll be fine as long as she doesn't get fall down drunk and pays attention to her surroundings. I worked down there for several years and still go to shows all the time. Aside from the occasional homeless person begging or some dumb arse busker taking up the sidewalk I've never had an issue.

As many others have already said, you should be perfectly fine during the day, but things can get pretty shady in Deep Ellum once it gets dark.

It's fine. We ride our bicycles down there to see shows.

We saw Pimpadelic at Trees after Statutory Rap came out. Didn't see any fighting or issues with anyone. Wife and I were stunned at how quickly the mosh pit came alive.

Pimpadelic went to shite when they moved towards "white trash rap". and had porn stars (rather than girls from the audience) come onstage to flash. The music was terrible and the funk riffs were gone. We saw them in Austin during this phase and left after 30 minutes or so. It was a terrible show in every respect.

Nope. Used to live there and moved. It’s gotten extremely dark and pretty dangerous. Fine during the day. Avoid it at night

Bring a Kevlar vest, always random shootings... The area waxes and wanes on safety.

There is an ongoing internal fight between the historic Deep Ellum local hipster types who are upset about the northwest portion of Deep Ellum being gentrified & taken over by the upscale bottle service clubs(Bottled Blonde, Green Light Social, Komodo, Sporting Club) since Uptown went downhill. It’s very entertaining.

It’s a shithole at night. Similar to bourbon street

Last time I was there, the first thing I saw was a kid getting arrested for a Glock with a switch

Pimpadelic went to shite

I can't remember who it was I was there to see at Trees (I think) but Pimpadelic was opening and it was maybe the worst thing I've ever seen live. The guitarist was so coked or cracked out he just spaced out and would stop playing mid song, and then pick it back up randomly.

They signed a contract with Tommy Boy, then Tommy Boy went belly up. The band went to shite after that point. Their big problem was that Statutory Rap was their best album and they didn't have anything in the tank after that. So, the next album or two bombed and got shite reviews.

Lead singer learned a real hard lesson one night when my brother laid him out for running his mouth after having sex with a 16yr old in the bathroom.

Now it all comes into focus

which concert?

I was in Dallas earlier this month for a Foo Fighters concert at Dos Equis Pavillion on May 1st.

I found out a few days later that Keith Urban did a last-minute show at Club Dada on May 3rd.

Went there for my birthday about 5 years ago. Stayed at the Omni Dallas and ran into Pudge Rodriguez there in the hotel restaurant/bar. Really nice hotel with a really awesome rooftop pool and bar area. Ventured to Deep Ellum. Felt save within that area but I would definitely recommend taking an Uber to get to/from there at night.
