Thibodaux has Peltier Park and The Farm. Not much for parks in Houma, which is kinda shocking.

Bayou Country Sports Park checks in.

They have 5 softball fields and several soccer fields completed, and are still working on the baseball fields which should be in the near future.

The great thing about Bayou Country Sports Park is that they are building it pay as you go. No big bond issue and no debt. They are however dependent on a Hotel/Motel Tax and a trickle of capital outlay dollars. It helps when you had the Speaker Pro Temp and House Appropriations Chair in Baton Rouge.

There is also the Airbase park that has a few older ball fields.

The glory days for Terrebonne sports parks was in in the 1990's when they hosted a few Dixie Youth World Series.

Which teams are consistently great in the state?
I have a few friends who coach, but I never really keep up that much with how they are really doing

depends greatly on age division

in Br

traction/pelicans/saints/nationals and a few others depending on age like big squeezy, rays, ascension select

in north shore- knights

nola- renegades and carrolton and chalmette reign

in laffy- storm and sometimes kings, some team action, tribe in some age groups. team LA has good teams too usually

in lc- luccini, prospects(13/14u), titans, mustangs

in cenla- cenla knights, sometimes barnes academy

up north- swamp donkeys, west monroe bulldogs, river dawgs, gold culture

down the bayou- LBA is almost always pretty good

Grand Isle needs to build a big complex so they can compete with all the other gulf coast sites for World Series.

Genius level thinking right here.

They have some fields in front of Catfish Lake….not sure if they are softball or baseball…

Yeah, and I have a couple DV's from guys whose wives or kids probably participate, and I said it wasn't all but probably 30%. Studies show 12-14% of women cheat on their spouse. That competition style cheer/dance has lot of the recipes that lead to that infidelity. The money and time lead to arguments between the spouses. The traveling and practices lead to less intimacy. Husbands take lack of physical love personally and whether cognitive or not tend to withhold the affirmation love that women typically lean towards. Now you add distance, alcohol, echo chamber with women going through the same, or even some jealousy at women who aren't going through it, and all you need is opportunity. Assuming that with those variables these women cheat at roughly twice the rate of the average woman isn't that big of a stretch. Not all, but more than normal. I'm sure guys on here whose wives go on those trips every other weekend don't fight about money. Probably don't go a week or two without physical intimacy. Probably don't hold any resentment over it...Give your wife her affirmation. Make her feel wanted like when you would do anything for her. If she sees the man she said yes to, then you will see the woman you spent way too much money and got way too nervous to ask to spend your life with you. It may not work 100% of the time, but it will work for the 70% that aren't upping the averages.

There' s always random arse delays though. We've never played there and left before 1am. 3+ hour breaks between games because they're only using half the fields fricking sucks!

Not answering OP but on topic. Listened to a young mom convo about “why can’t we get really nice travel ball fields in town? I can’t believe everyone voted against that property tax”.

Would yall support a property tax to build new fields? Seems nuts to me.

Now? Probably not. There are too many nice ones spread across the state that are already established. 5-10 years ago would have been the time to build Gunnar and Paiseleigh an astroturf paradise. The good ones do pump a lot of money into an area's revenue stream...

Just trying to gauge where the biggest tournaments with the most people are held on a consistent basis.

Always been surprised by the amount of money that Ascension has that they have the worst parks. You would have thought by now they would have built a complex close to Hwy 30. Take advantage of all the hotels near Lamar Dixon and easy access to I-10 from Baton Rouge and NO.
