Whites moved out. Nothing but blacks now. That city is just like Memphis.

Nope. It's the banking center of the south and has the best hospitals in the southeast.

Birminghams crime problems can be solved easily if you just turn the cameras off.

I’ve lived south of Bham in north Shelby county for years. I always felt safer than anywhere in New Orleans. Way safer than the Lakeview area of New Orleans. Spooges rob and pillage in Lakeview all the time. They would not dare try that shite where I lived. They’d be be dead as Dixie cups. Bham’s crime problem is in town and north of town. Spooges run rampant. HOOVER would also never put up with spooge crime. It’s like having a sheriff Harry Lee in all the areas surrounding spooge infected Bham Propper.

Tell them to stay east of I-65 and south of the Civic Center. There's still violent crime east of there, but it's usually personal. Very rarely involves someone from outside the hood..

West of I-65 is where the true shittiness is.

I grew up in Ensley.

It was sort of tough in the late 1970s, but now it is not as safe as Afghanistan.

I like that guy. People like that give me hope that some of them are waking up to how bad Democrat policies. As someone mentioned above...everything is run my Dems. And what I would say is hundreds of "Latoya" type judges that run uncontested every election.

Helena is a really nice area. We are in Vestavia and crime is just not a concern. I leave my doors unlocked all the time.

I'm northeast of Trussville, and I don't even lock the door when I leave the house most of the time.

If we can't hang out at gas stations and fire our guns, what can we do?

For anyone under the age of 50 who lives in suburban Birmingham, you might as well say you lived in an alternate universe in another dimension. It might seem inconceivable that much of the westside of town once had prosperous retail districts, neighborhoods with beautiful, well-manicured lawns and schools with highly competitive football teams.

This is an image from the 1970 West End High School year book. It shows pictures from a high school football game at the famed Legion Field:

https://bpl/digital/collection/p132001coll0

The stands may look empty but that is because Legion Field once sat nearly 80,000 people. There may have been 15,000 fans attending this particular game since Legion Field was so cavernous.

If you look closely, what is the first thing you notice about the students? That is correct — they are extremely well dressed.

Our back door is open 99% of the time. Granted we have two dogs but I’m not sure it would be any different if we didn’t.

The political geography of Birmingham is so different than most of the rest of the South / America that it’s frankly kind of difficult to compare. How many other metro areas in America have less than 1/5th of their population in the city itself?

It skews crime stats like crazy, not that Birmingham doesn’t have its struggles, but it’s not apples to apples with Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Atlanta, Nashville, etc.

That kind of dude is exactly what is needed these days. He’s smart enough to realize this isn’t something that can be fixed by police, business owners, etc. He’s doing everything he can reasonably be expected to do. But he can’t babysit an entire culture by himself.

Meanwhile pussy arse police chief blames the gas station. frick that guy.

Also, listening to these low IQ “reporters” was painful. Holy shite they were all terrible. This is your AA and AAA farm system for national news media, folks. No wonder they have no credibility. They can barely read the teleprompter or enunciate the words written for them. Pathetic.

Sounds like some racist-arse term that I’ve never heard of, but happy to be proven wrong.

My thought was always, if whitey was so bad weren’t we doing you a favor by keeping you away? And actually many people will tell you that segregation led to black entrepreneurs in Birmingham where they did not exist other places simply because they had to build their own enterprises instead of just patronizing established white businesses. All that being said, I have no problem with quality people regardless of their skin color. My neighbor is black OBGYN and they are the best neighbors we’ve ever had. We have Indians, Jews, Russians, Chinese, Lebonese, even a dwarf, all within a stones throw. Everyone gets along because we’ve all bought into and are living the American dream.

Just FYI, one of the best pediatric specialty surgeons - potentially THE best - in all of Alabama is an African-American dude based out of Children’s’ (Peds ENT, Dr. Smith).

These thugs roam the burbs in the early AM looking for unlocked cars to steal the guns that are being used in majority of local shootings, that's why they can never catch these hood rats. All it will take is one resident blowing one of the turds away to solve this problem.

Uh… no
Charlotte is the banking center of the south.

And medically, Knoxville has birmingham beat. Heck, even houston is better and MD Anderson has it all beat when it comes to Cancer care.
Baylor Houston is tops in many areas.

I can’t think of a single area that birmingham would stand out.

That's laughable, where do you think all the cancer research that is providing these drugs used at MD Anderson comes from??... UAB. Why do so many athletes choose BHM for surgery, Dr.'s James Andrews & Larry Lemak. 2 of the greats in orthopedic surgery.

Ever heard the phrase "New York's southern branch office"?

Hint: they weren't talking about any Carolina
