That is a dumbass statement, there is a reason he is considered one of the greatest basketball players of all-time. Matching up against Chamberlain and winning is the same as beating Jordan.

Hard to believe the little red clay dirt towns of Lisbon, Hico, Summerfield Bernice and Summerfield tucked in the little triangle where Claiborne, Union and Lincoln parishes come together, produced Glynn Saulters ('68 olympic gold medalist), Willis Reed, Benny Anders and Karl Malone. Pretty remarkable.
Also didn't realize it, but Clyde the Glyde (a teammate of Benny Anders on Phi Slamma Jamma) was born in NOLA.

He has as many NBA championships as Michael Jordan + LeBron James + Nikola Jokic, and, he was the best player on his team.

Might be the greatest ever at the high school level in LA.
Went watch them play a few times when I was in middle school. Dude would casually pull up from 30 feet

Sure, he got a lot of rebounds and played good defense, but that’s like calling Rudy Gobert one of the goats.
Yeah, because rebounding and defense aren't an important part of the game. It's all about gaudy scoring averages, right? Let me know when they name NBA Finals MVP Award after Rudy Gobert. Since he's never sniffed the NBA Finals, you may be waiting a while.

quote:wrong. contrary to all the ignorance, defense was only valued in the late 80's and most of the 90s
You clearly don't understand an era when defense was valued more than offense. H
quote:you seem to have missed the point. he played against very little competition. people like shaq would have destroyed him. Bill would have been better than average but he would not have been considered all time top 10 if he played post 1980
He was one if not the best defender of all time.

Robert Parish was a beast back in the day.

Bob Petit IMO. He is #3 all-time in rebounds per game and #10 all-time in points per game.
It is one of these 5. Bill Russell, Bob Pettit, Willis Reed, Elvin Hayes or Karl Malone. Honorable mention to the Chief, Robert Parish.
