Under a new bill being proposed by Sen Marsha Blackburn will have pro-Hamas protesters placed on the No-Fly list and student visas revoked.
I approve 100%!
The bill is appropriately called:
No Flights for Terrorists Act

What happens when the dems claim MAGA is a terrorist group? Will Republican supporters be on no fly list?
Save the list for threats. Not protesters.

I swear the GOP is full of morons just like the Dems.
Yeah so let's pass a law that criminalizes speech. Give me a break

Same thing I’ve said with the Israeli hate speech. Once you open that door, people can internet it however they want.
Same with just normal speech. They use the “fire in a theater” as a way to say you can’t say certain things in certain situations because it could cause a harmful action and reaction.
They use this to say that anything anti-trans is violent speech and causes harm and they want to jail/cancel people who do. Evil stuff

Yea, this falls squarely into the "this will totally not backfire spectacularly and eventually be used on people that you happen to agree with" category of government overreach.

Are you aware the most of these Ivy League schools are around 60% foreign students? I’d say the intent of this bill would be to send terrorist supporting student back to their home country.

I fully support the revoking visas part. Foreigners shouldn't be allowed to come here and protest our country.

I like the idea, but it flies directly against the First Amendment. Besides, there's already laws which can be pursued:
Iran is considered to be an enemy of the US. Iran funds Hamas to the point where they are Iran's proxy in all but formal name, therefore supporting Hamas is to support Iran. Those supporting Hamas are therefore guilty of Treason while those encouraging them are guilty of Sedition.
I wouldn't mind the penalty for Sedition be elevated to add the potential for the death penalty (as there is with Treason).
Just like with the border issue, extra laws aren't going to do shite about frick when current laws (ones which already cover the issue) are purposely not being enforced.

Really terrible bill and precedent. No one should support this (on either political side)

Irrelevant in the hands of the Left.

Then make the bill say that and only that.

If you stand out side... Chant etc no big deal
You meet with leadership to advance your views - great
You sponsor guest speakers ... Fine
You take over a building cause you are a petulant fool...I can see some ramifications like deportation or no fly

If they are just protesting, no. If they are threatening people, occupying buildings, breaking the law, then yes.
Then find an old Liberty ship and take them to that new pier we built in Gaza.
While we are at it deport all who have illegally entered this country.

Foreign Students
As long as they keep it to foreigners, I have no issue.

This and this. Some of you have vastly misunderstood "free speech". If I am on campus and want to walk to class, I should not have to walk all the way around "common grounds" lest I be cussed, threatened and physically attacked.
Your rights STOP when they infringe on others. This bullshite about "protests must be uncomfortable" is just that bullshite, and its certainly not free speech.

Great idea so pass it immediately and let the Dems do their Marxist counter argument

Blackburn’s bill would put any individual including: students, faculty, professors, or paid agitators, on the no-fly list if they have called for violence against Jewish people, pledged allegiance to terrorists groups, or have been subject to disciplinary action by the school related to such. The bill is clearly directed at Hamas terrorist sympathizers. In addition, it will bar students from federal loans.
Posted on 5/10/24 at 1:14 pm to HailToTheChiz
Calling for violence against Jewish people is NOT regular speech, it is a threat of violence.

I support immediate deportation of the pro-Hamas protesters if they are here on student visas.
