Who makes these lists? My money goes so much farther in Mississippi than it does in any other state.
During covid, I was allowed to live my life pretty much as I wanted. So there's freedom here too unlike most states listed above us.
I mean I'm glad for the bad ranking as it keeps outsiders out but I just don't understand why the South gets shite on in these lists when it is the best region to live in.

The only state on that “top 10” list I’d even consider is Florida

It’s like this everywhere!!!!

Louisiana has so much to offer. But our politicians are crooked and will always kept it a mess.

Yep, Louisiana may be ranked low in almost every economic category, but I would argue, they (especially the South Louisianians) are the friendliest people you will ever meet. Their hospitality, music, and food equal to or better than any place I've every known.
And with that I leave you with this....
It don't matter who's playing in Baton Rouge, Beau Jocque is still the King (of Zydeco).
fais pas ça

New Orleans drives a lot of the factors that go into these rankings
The education and crime are mostly out of sync with the rest of the state.
Latoya has brought that city to its knees

Been living here for 46 years and can confirm......it's a shithole. Hasn't always been, but it definitely is now. I have an exit plan and cannot wait to leave.

Louisiana sucks balls at everything in every category excluding home cookin and futbawl.

Surveyed a bunch of Yankees for that list.

I spent years 3-18 in Shreveport, but now have spent the last 12 years as. Utah resident.
I miss all kinds of thing about the south and Louisiana… but cool summer evenings are unbeatable… and until last year I had never been bitten by a mosquito (big snow year and wet spring).

Bottom 10 is laughable. Not wasting the time to open the link and read it. The metrics used are not the same metrics I’d use.
This “bottom 10” has multiple states that offer some of the best recreational outdoor activities. Apparently that doesn’t matter here.
