You are wasting your time trying to tell my wife a joke. Wasting your fricking time. Everyone in the room could be dying laughing and she’d just be looking around trying to decide what to do. It’s amazing.

Yeah it’s a necessity for men due to evolution. Great looking women can just stand around like the statues they are. Same rules applied back in the Stone Age.
Why do most women complain so much, compared to most men? That’s a better question that has puzzled me. (Yes I know there are exceptions)

Or they'll try to shorten a joke, not realizing that the buildup is what makes the punchline work

Does this stem from the chick on the Tom Brady roast? She definitely fit the mold for not funny.
Don’t get me wrong there’s some that are funny but it’s very rare. One that can be funny is Jennifer Aniston. She has her funny moments. Most of the funny women are funny because we’re more so laughing at them than with them. Case in point is Kelly from the office. We laugh at how dumb she portrays herself.

Lucille Ball, Tina Fey, Joan Rivers, and Cloris Leachman are straight up hilarious. Others can be if the movie role is written well for them.
It's very similar to women in sports. When they're trying to "get hype" or pump up the crowd. It seems fake. For guys comedy is huge for assimilating into a group, and like others have said for landing a woman. The women I mentioned up top were all time greats at setting up the jokes and knocking them down.

I saw an Instagram post one time claiming that dad jokes are the way they are because wives killed all the real humor out of the husband. It was a funny bit.

My wife is the Francis Ford Coppola of humor; she is not funny very often, but when she does its epic. We have been laughing at one of her jokes for 20 years.

For starters, to be funny, you have to have a sense of humor. Most women take themselves way too seriously. They would never disparage anything about themselves to get a laugh. Comedians/comediennes who are considered “funny” get their audiences laughing by relating personal anecdotes which, in large part, are funny at their own expense. Too many women take that type of “funny” as demeaning and self loathing.
They really just need to get over themselves and loosen up. Most often than not, real life is funny because people personally identify with it.
