Well, Christians are imperfect.
I question the drive to question "how Christian" one is by what they do on largely secular, political matters.
I'm not thrilled with Johnson as a politician, but I also have low expectations for politicians. Part of that is their (the politician's) fault, part of it is our (the citizenry's) fault.
I do know Johnson is more outspoken about Christianity and his faith in Christ than 99% of politicians at any level, and if that is reflective of his priorities and faith then I'd say it's far, far more important than "temporal" things like Ukraine or an anti-semitism bill.
That still leaves open the possibility he's not a good leader/politician/whatever, but I'm not interested in conflating those things with his faith in Christ.

quote:I don’t believe God wants us to live in fear of him, but I do believe God is just and fair, which means when you do wrong you will be justly rewarded for it, the same as when you do good. God is mighty and will strike down the unrighteous, while also loving of all who fall under his grace. But he’s not weak and doesn’t condone wickedness which is one some modern churches seem to preach. It’s okay to sin, God doesn’t care, it’s better to be weak and never hurt anyone, etc. God will always love you, but part of love is disciplining those you love when they misbehave. Also God says that vengeance will be his, but that is to say when someone is doing the lords will and striking down those that oppose his will (Hamas and Al-queda come to mind) they carrying out the lords work.
They love those concerts and fun centers in their congregations, but fire and brimstone preaching, not so much. We have forsaken the fear of The Most High God.

Yep. If you have the time there’s the martyrmade series called fear and loathing in Jerusalem. It’s long and covers everything that happened that has led up to the modern conflicts in Israel but it touches on how the Jewish lobbyist were able to take over the American political parties through donations and how now both political parties are willing to defend Israel at almost any cost. I don’t have an issue with Israel as a state but whenever any country has that much control over our nation and how we react to them, it is a problem.

A strong Christian usually doesn't get involved with politics.

If you want to be honest, if you really read the Gospels in depth and took in all of the Epistles, you would not support the Republicans either....and you would have problems with much of the Protestant and even Catholic interpretations.
Actually, you are nit far off, but you miss one link, the Deep States power along with their media cohorts.
The Republicans mostly come to DC with a patriotic agenda but like a prostitute they get turned out over time. The Dems are prostitutes when they first run, having become so in order to have the right to be a Dem candidate to start out with in their big city centers/metro areas.
Here's how the game goes, a Republican becomes a leader of a Committee like Turner in the house, the deep state (CIA/FBI etc.) fill him full of crap about how important his job is now, and they then give them a line of hodou. Now Mike thinks these people see him as an "Important Figure" instead of the chump they are playing him for.
To other who will not play at first they use the 702 search queries to find all the dirt on him, and black mail them. To others they can't get a hold of the seek to divide them off as being CRAZIES like MTG until they relent and support the likes of McCarthy. Then on top of all this they use the media to keep Republicans and way ward Dems in check by writing slanted stories.
The Dems and Deep State along with the Media are one symbiotic Beast of a Monster. The Republicans come hoping to do good in many cases, and they are slowly but surely cooked like a lobster. They never stop until they find a way to crack or they just smear you. So, either you play the game and take the graft they are offering, or you get smeared, tarred and feathered. You do the math. These Republicans see no hope, so they sadly get in line and get on the dole.

A strong Christian usually isn’t going to make it very far in politics.
A strong Christian isn't going to waste their time with politics. It's the devils shite show and there is nothing about it that aligns with following Christ. God doesn't want Christians to defeat socialism or save America he wants Christians to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to save souls from the fires of hell.

I don't think Johnson is honest about his Christianity. I think he uses it as a tool. He fails the basic honesty test over and over.
It's tough to understand if he's just extremely weak and has been completely led by his staff...or if he's a true turncoat that has adopted the uniparty.
Either way, he's certainly become an obstacle to our country saving itself.

For fricks sake, he’s not a conservative. What we are hungry for is someone that has fricking balls and is willing to do the right thing! How hard is this?!
