Do they still make 70 year old granny take off her shoes?

If your plane heads to JXN, you’re going to wish you could stay in the ATL.
ATL is Nirvana compared to PHL or EWR (although I will say the USO in Philly is a nice oasis away from all the suck that is that airport).
Having said that, I've only connected through ATL, never originated.

Gonna give up one of my little ATL secrets. Don’t check into the domestic terminal. Use the security at the international terminal and enter into terminal F then take the sky train. Shhh… keep it quiet.
I do this anytime I’m carrying on, but not when I check a bag. Never a challenge parking in that deck, the food/atmosphere is better in F than anywhere else, the Delta lounge is much nicer.

Only once, I’ll pay extra to fly into Tampa rather than Orlando.

Sometimes it’s unavoidable, but I try not to fly out of ATL on Mondays. Tuesdays are getting to be just as bad

The luggage screener machine is the worst. On the front end, they need to have double the amount of input and the back end needs to be about 5-10 feet longer and move luggage quicker.
Digital ID is the hidden secret of the ATL airport. I’ve never waited more than 10 minutes. I also check the security reports and if it’s bad I’ll go to the international side, which is always a breeze.

Plane Train, not Sky Train (which is the train to the rental car center)

LOL at people complaining about 30 minutes etc. There are some days every line is backedup and wrapping the atrium. And there's also another couple thousand cars circling the airport looking for any open parking spaces at the same time.
After a while you just get used to the world's busiest airport AND the world's worst airport employees combining to create one of the worst experiences imaginable. All you can do is have Clear, digital ID and say a couple dozen hail Marys when sitting in the traffic jams getting TO the airport that you have a chance to make your flight. The good thing is that most of the flights are delayed so there's that.

Here's my tip, and you won't like it. Get there way the frick early.
I leave early early early for flights and beat the traffic and the lines. I don't mind spending 2 hours eating breakfast, checking emails, or whatever.
My wife rarely travels and I told her that she needed to just bite the bullet and get there way the frick early. She didn't.
Then it took her longer to find parking than she thought due to construction. Then security lines were absurd and she's not pre-check. She missed her flight.

Flown into, out of and through ATL numerous times.
Never had an issue.

TSA has definitely been obnoxiously long for awhile now. I think precheck took me a solid 30mins last sunday

Getting a rental car from the Atlanta Airport is infuriating. I have Hertz setup. What takes 20 mins at LAX WITH 15 min bus ride took 75 mins. I hate Atlanta and don't see how anyone can live there.

Same.
Hartsfield is very efficient, especially when you compare it to other major airports.

I always go super early to get through security. Then I got sit at the bar and have a few drinks until it's time to head over. Sleep like a baby on the flight.

I'm embarrassed to be from and live in Atlanta when I look at the TSA workers. All of them are obese, rude, low iq, and look like they hate their miserable life (they probably do)
