I bought a 2013 VW Jetta. It does not have cruise control

I went for a test drive on city streets and didn’t realize it didn’t have it. When I got on the highway afterwards, I found out it doesn’t. I wouldn’t have bought it if I had known.
I can’t believe they make cars without cruise. Are there places that can do aftermarket kits? I drive 30k miles a year so I definitely can use it

It's ok, if it hadn't it it wouldn't work anyways.

I think you can get the dealership to add it.

Yep

Drove a 2013 work van (Chevy) for a while. It didn't have it. Also, windows were still hand cranked. Moved up to 2018 with my most recent truck, and it is full electric with Bluetooth. And cruise.

Idiot decision. They can add it, but will cost quite a bit.

Aftermarket not done by the dealer is possible.
I wouldn’t suggest it.
I’d trade it and get one with.
If you just bought the car, return it. They may add it for you to keep you from returning it.

You can take mine. I never use it. Even on the interstate there are too many people driving too slow in the wrong lane to ever use it.

You won't have to worry about not having cruise control for long.

Cruise control is for plebes. Trade the car in and get adaptive cruise control. I drive 30K miles a year as well and will not buy a truck again that doesn't have this feature.

Keeping your foot on the accelerator is a real chore.

I'm 53 and I don't use cruise control, have never liked it. Tried it when I got my license at 15 years old and never once used it again.

Funny how everyone is shitting on VWs, like half of them don't drive shitty Fords and Dodges.

My dad installed cruise control on a 1970-something Scirocco in 1979/80. I’m sure it can still be done.

Whatever happened to new cars that shut off at red lights? A few years ago, all new cars had that 'feature. Both myself and my girlfriend and have cars bought in 2019 and neither even have the ability to do that.
I'm glad because I thought it was stupid and would have disabled it, but I've noticed that I don't hear other cars doing it at red lights very often these days.

Just wait until the ignition key cylinder locks up on you, and you find out that only VW dealerships will replace it for hundreds of dollars because locksmiths can't/won't touch a VW.

Rig up a Navitron 555G marine autopilot under your dash. It can be configured to act as a cruise control, and also provides many other useful features like NMEA output and a high-volume klaxon.
