Don’t get caught up on Alabama just putting someone on leave for being gay.
Her ex husband would be an ot baw, I really like him. Everyone has focused solely on the leave and isn’t thinking about the family, I couldn’t imagine having your family break up at that age with all this publicity.
This right here

There are very, very few school boards in 2024 that are going to can a tenured teacher/administrator for being gay, no matter what dumb narratives are out there.
There's obviously something more going on.
I've watched a character assasination and bullshite rumors being spread by members of the board and school administrators in the same damn state. I watched a bunch of jealous fricks carry out a collective effort to destroy the reputation of a person who had done nothing more than their job. I knew 100% beyond a shadow of a doubt that it was all bullshite. This was carried our over the course of multiple years and it damn near lead to that person taking their own life. That person is still employed, was fully vindicated, had their record that was illegally tampered with wiped clean, and was promoted to a better position.
So, forgive me if I have trust issues with "the board". I work from the standpoint that nothing is below them, no matter the district or county they serve.

Some of the slimiest shite I've ever witnessed came from school administrators and school boards.
I remember an incident where the principal of a high school was replaced a year or two before retiring. She moved to another school and worked as a librarian until her retirement instead of moving to another schools district to stay as an administrator since that district did want her as a principal. Not sure if it affected her retirement since that is usually based on an average of your last few years of pay.

This right here. There are awful things happening behind the scenes in a nearby school district right now that will probably come out in the near future.

Here is a photo of her on the year she was hired for the job. There is no way the school board was unaware of her sexuality when she got the job.
It is unlikely that she was reassigned just for being gay.
More to the story I think.
Maybe because she is a bammer and has tattoos and is gay.
Three strike rule on poor judgment?

So regretful she hired an attorney.

Lesbian teacher should t show pictures of her kissing her girlfriend to coworkers at school. Way to pretend to be obtuse and miss the point.
But is it ok for heterosexual teachers to show pictures of them kissing their girlfriend or boyfriend to coworkers?
I didn't miss the point. The point is that it's illegal to fire someone for their sexual orientation. And if the school board did that, then it's gonna cost the school a lot of money. And the teacher will be right back in the classroom.
That was the point. Perhaps you were the one who missed it

She have a stroke? Half her face seems way lower than the other

Probably a lot of posters in this thread I know. Howdy neighbors!
Heard the board meeting was a shitshow. Glad I missed it. Seems they were overwhelmed by Karens from all over Bham and were allowed to speak. Amazing they let people from outside Vestavia address the board. Oh well….
Like others said, there has to be more to the story than this and legally they can’t discuss it. Glad my kids are out of the system at this point.

When I was studying to become a teacher, homosexuals were denied admission to teacher education programs
Well, since then the Supreme Court has made that illegal. So the school board needs to brush up on constitutional law before it fires someone for being gay. That gets expensive

Always find these situations odd.. the details will dictate legal issues but .. she believes it’s fine for her to completely change her lifestyle, breaking down a structure of security that promotes a desired outcome, at the same time it’s not ok for the others have there own doubts about having her in charge. The irony is in the hypocrisy..

She was reassigned by the superintendent, who has full authority to do that, with the same title and pay. The school board’s only action was to approve the move. Her contract is still being honored.

My issue with the Vestavia School Board is that there is another principal who showed a video of a special needs student having a meltdown in a staff meeting and openly mocked the student. That dude is still employed and to my knowledge has not been transferred.
What would you have them do to him?

Someone doesn't have experience with overzealous school boards. Some of the slimiest shite I've ever witnessed came from school administrators and school boards.
Absolutely! School boards are the most unethical group of people and complete dirt bags! They don't care about teachers, students and staff. They care about promoting all their buddies and the hell with everybody else, unless it's election time. During that time, they act like they're your buddy, but you don't hear shite from them afterwards and they act like they don't even know you. Typical politician BS!
