Here’s what happened when that guy tried to burn the American flag at LSU in 2011. Hopefully today’s students are also up to the challenge.

No one's burning a USA flag.

Burn the Israel flags though

Any one track this Ben Haas guy down to see what he's been up too and his thoughts on his younger self?

People get it twisted. I love the flag, and I love the country, About once a year, my kids scout troop collects flags from our local town hall and disposes of them properly in a flag retirement ceremony. It's truly a moving event if you've never seen one.

But the flag is just a symbol of what the country stands for. When a soldier, police officer or elected official takes the oath of office, they don't swear to protect and defend the flag. They swear on Oath to protect and defend the CONSTITUTION. That is the ultimate framework for our country and our government. The flag is just a symbol of what the constitution represents. If someone wants to desecrate or burn a flag to make whatever political point they're trying to make, Fine. I'm not happy about it but it's their right under the First amendment. I'd much rather live in a country where we have a constitution that grants us absolute freedom to do/say what we want than the alternative. If that means some knucklehead get to burn a flag, then so be it...

I hope that makes sense.

Good times. I went out that morning to study for my advanced accounting final on the parade grounds and this chaos unfolded out of nowhere.

Performing folk punk : agonistic performances of intersectionality

quote:

The overarching goal of this project is to argue that folk punk performances offer spaces where a listening audience is exposed to a radical and intersectional politics, and enable that audience to identify with those views...this study looks to the ways in which these folk punk exemplars highlight elements of the radical politics of the American left and in the history of folk and punk music. In particular, this project considers the intersections of race and class, women and nonhuman animals, and queerness and anarchism, as intersecting points of ideological convergence

Great video of police restricting access to law abiding citizens on public property and a traditional public forum.

I forgot how nasty that dude was. Very unkempt. Is he Jewish? I wonder which side of the aisle he'd be on today.

I attended this. Also witnessed the dancing chick at Reggie's, had to deal with pizza gurl periodically because of work, took classes with JC Yeahyeah and Hannah Martin.

This would be the peak period of attending LSU if Les Miles had learned how to run a passing game.

Hard to believe a lot of these people are old enough to have 5th graders.

I was there.

Watching that chick celebrate getting hit with a water balloon, not knowing it was filled with piss, was definitely the best part.

Just watched it again, and that was like a real life Sacha Baron Cohen bit.

Also, if you look his name up in the phone book, it will be listed as Haas, Ben....
