I think Israel has proven they don't care about the court of public opinion, or even what U.S. politicians or the UN think or say.

They believe, right or wrong, they are fighting for their very existence, which emboldens them.

If I had to pick a side, I would pick Israel, but I don't particularly care. I just want the United States to stay out of it.

You do realize with Israel gone most of the terror groups and the countries that support them would go unchecked. Hamas and Hezbollah no longer has Israel to fight wonder who they would look to next? Use your brain.

My brain says those groups wouldn’t exist since they were formed by people displaced by the Israeli government and only gained traction and support due to extreme living conditions of their peers, largely brought on as a result of Israel’s actions.

Israel is important for US interests in that part of the world. And, like it or not, that part of the world is important for our security long term, especially if “America First” refers to America’s long term prosperity and independence.

So in your mind if Israel ceased to exist tomorrow Hamas and Hezbollah who is supported by Iran would just say "well Israel is gone guess I'll go open up a hookah lounge or something and quit being a terrorist."

Pretty much

ETA this is irrelevant because Israel does exist, and I am happy they exist, but I’m tired of being their permanent pitbull

This is exactly right. If terrorist funding towards Israel were to be redirected, it would be used against the US.

Who filled your head with that? Why is this the case?

Did the same people who said Putin will take Poland next tell you that?

Also, good thing we have the Atlantic Ocean to stop them, and maybe if we sent the $25 billion dollars to building a wall on the border instead of splitting between Israel and Hamas we wouldn’t have any worry at all about terrorists.

This is why liberals running higher learning is so dangerous.

You teach kids false hoods, and they gobble them up. Don't buy them? You flunk.

These institutions have been feeding little minds that Israel is really Palestinian land. All bullshite.

They leave out how Egypt has always similarly dealt with the Palestinians in the same manner by denying their claims for "their" land.

Wait until you hear about who facilitated the start of Hamas and ISIS.

Their loyalty is rented. Israel spends a lot of money in Washington to bribe people.

With that said, that’s not a stable setup. And people will eventually find it too annoying to put up with, they don’t like being used and they don’t like being treated with contempt.

I have my doubts about the long term viability of setting up shop in the middle of a neighborhood that hates you.

That's actually changed in the last 10-20 years. Israel has very good relations with Jordan, Egypt, and even Saudi Arabia. Sure, Syria and Lebanon still hate them, but they're failed states anyway. The biggest destabilizing force in that region is Iran working through proxies, but Iran lacks the expeditionary military to really pose a threat to Israel.

The further they get away from October 7, the smaller the chances of being able to follow through their plans.

The northern half of Gaza has been blown to frick, so they need to decide how they are proceeding with Rafah and push forward. All indications are they have decided and are trying to get their timetables set up.

Honestly Israel doesn't need our help. They can handle Hezbollah, Hamas, Hoothies and Iran on their own. People really do not understand how good Israels military is, especially their air force.

Except on October 7th.

Not really. Due to our shale revolution and the slow breakdown of Bretton Woods, we no longer need Middle Eastern oil to keep our allies supplied. If we can just keep the Middle East at arm's length, we'll be fine. The best case scenario for us would be for Turkey, once Erdogan is gone, to be the regional hegemon over there.
