DeSantis makes the most sense

For no other reason, than this ticket gives the GOP ticket the best chance at winning. There is no substitute for victory
All feelings and personal idealogies aside, if the Republicans behaved liked Democrats, and actually found it useful to win, then they would figure out away to being these two camps together and make it happen.
Furthermore, this easily sets DeSantis up as the de facto 2028 canidate. Otherwise he is going to be termed out in 2026, and depending who the VP is in 24, there is a good chance that canidate will leap frog his 2028 ambitions.
I know, all.of us on the right (myself included) like to critique every detail about every canidate and various issues. But ultimately we do need political power to even think about wielding said political power. But more importantly, what we really need is to neuter the deep state gestapo from interfering with local political action where real change can occur. I'm less interested with what a Trump/DeSantis ticket can do... and much more interested about what an uninterrupted Ken Paxton AG office can do.

No, Ronnie needs to support Trump….but at arms length.

Rons only chance at 28 is to take the VP spot
He knows this and why he begged for a meeting with Orange to apologize

I have no idea why people believe this. Trump is still Trump, so no matter how he performs half the country will be sick of him after another 4 years. It will be an uphill battle for any Republican, but his VP will be dead in the water.

Being Trumps vp is a death sentence to your political aspirations. This is not a debate.

You may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but you have quite the imagination.

Imagine the mental gymnastics some posters would have to jump through if this ends up being the pick?

Never give up a governorship for a VP position. It makes no sense at all.

Where does this line of thinking come from? He got destroyed in the primary, but you think he gives the GOP a better chance? Common sense says the guy that whipped everyone else in the primary has the best chance. What am I missing?

Republicans aspire to lose. That's how they and the Democrats have agreed to play this game. In the end they're on the same side, which is opposite the People and the Constitution.
If we don't get it right in November, there's not going to be a 2028. The country will be gone. We'll have 50M people from south of the border and a million or so from Palestine. They will all be getting hundreds of billions in free stuff every year, ripped from you at the point of a gun. But people want to keep making excuses for losers like Mike Johnson and will just keep electing Republicans, and Democrats, and won't use the ballot box to purge Congress.
I'm amazed that people are still clinging to the two party system after what we've seen, especially since the midterms. The two parties have moved in lock step.
Only one person in the Senate, on the ballot in November, deserves any consideration and that's Hawley. Only 7 in the House: Biggs, Crane, Rosendale, Goode, Gaetz, MTG, Massie. The last two have finally seen the light on Speaker issues.
That's 8 out of about 470 on the ballot. About 1.7%. And people will just keep voting for the same cast of characters as they destroy the nation.

The fact that the people who vote in primaries aren't the same as the people who vote in general elections. I don't understand why this has to be explained, over and over.

We can’t have 2 candidates from the same state. Trump and Desantis are both Florida citizens.

Dude, it wasn’t even close. Get over it. If people like you will get over yourself, and if we have a fair election, it won’t be close against Biden either

Just being objective, a more moderate person from a swing state makes much more sense.
Trump has clearly moved to the center, and he wants to shy away from any image that he's a ultra right extremist or anything. He did terrible with women and he needs to at least do a little better there.
Plus there is the hoops he needs to jump through electorally just to make it happen.
Desantis and Trump should work together and campaign together in ultra red states, however.

Get over what? You asked a stupid question, I answered with a simple fact.

You think Mike Pence had a great political future, but for that?
I mean that’s the only sample here.
