On Saturday, the Iraqi Parliament enacted a law imposing prison sentences of 10 to 15 years for homosexual and transgender relationships, citing the preservation of religious values as its rationale.
quote:
In addition to targeting homosexual relationships, the new statute forbids any efforts to promote homosexuality within Iraq, setting a penalty of up to 7 years in prison for such actions.

The law also bars "on-demand biological gender changes," imposing a 3-year jail term for medical professionals or others involved in facilitating these procedures.

This sounds like they're getting more progressive.
Good for them.

I guess Biden’s State Department will have to take down their gay pride flags at the US embassy and issue a sternly worded letter

Don’t believe the lies. Iraq, Hamas and these various groups are just misunderstood and peace loving. The protesters and Dems have a good understanding of this and are going to educate those of us who are misinformed.

If they hate homosexuality so much why do they alway rape other men and boys?
Posted on 4/28/24 at 7:45 pm to LSUbest
Harsher than throwing them from the top of the tallest building on sight?

George W and Cheney will be pissed. This was not part of the plan.

Does the law also set the minimum rooftop height for homosexuals to be thrown from?

Are people in this thread actually happy about this decision or am I missing some sarcasm or inner joke? This seems like a grave violation of people's liberty. As a fellow homosexual person, I feel so bad for iraqi gays. To have their freedom to love taken away from them just like that, for no good reason. Just all around terrible.

I don't want government doing these.
I support society clamping down on homo normalization. It should be mocked and ridiculed and it's promoters cancelled.

Congress should pass a bill to fund airline tickets to Iran for protesters.

What will our military ever do about this?
