Some form of culling is necessary for the good of the breed, but people often want a breed-able dog or pay a reduced cost.

People that think they can dictate to other people what and how they raise and keep their pets/kids/livestock.

What kind of dogs are you talking about here? Some rabbit hunting beagles or bird dogs.
My grandpa had over 40 beagles at a time and he didn't give a frick about any of them except for one specific one. That's a different story than something like a Labrador to me

This was a house pet that pissed her off because it wasn't a good hunting dog and she was embarrassed when she tried to take it on a hunt without training.

Agreed. I have friends with Labs that are only hunting dogs. I get it but I would never kill one because it didn't hunt.
We have Goldens that retrieve and hunt but are also house dogs that live with chickens and cats.
We also adopted another Golden that the owner spent thousands to train her to hunt but she doesn't hunt. Glad he didn't kill her. Wonderful pet and hell of a watch dog.
