No talk about the uproar over Noem shooting Fluffy the puppy?

It's all over twitter. Apparently she discusses in her book shooting a 14 month old hunting dog.
Of course the people that only know dogs to be fluffy lovable pets are in an uproar.
Hunting dogs are often assholes and if they won't hunt they get shot.
Saying that, it was fricking stupid of her to talk about shooting a dog. Why bring it up?
*I'm guessing she didn't think anything of it as she grew up on a farm. The editor should have flagged it however.

I mean... seems like a VERY crappy thing to do. And makes me think quite a bit less of her, actually. She was never getting the VP nod anyways...

This is not uncommon. These dogs are not pets. They are work animals.

I'm not a hunter but know a few and they have all talked about putting down dogs that won't hunt and are uncontrollable.

A bit more of the story; On the way back from the failed hunt the dog attacked and killed several chickens and tried to bite Noem when she tried to get it away from said chickens.
I love dogs but know that dog has to go bye bye.

Sounds like this dog was not a good hunting dog. Maybe, just maybe, it would’ve done well with people? Instead of killing it she could’ve taking it to a shelter and at least it would’ve had a chance of living.
We currently have a rescued jagdterrier and he’s been a good family dog for almost 15 years
