My friends sister went there so we ran with that crowd. Multiple proms and parties were had.

We sent our kid to ASH when in Nola. It’s expensive but I’d pay it again.

Has dominican fallen off a cliff?

This if a Catholic education is important. If not, McGehee.

They are right up there with Mt. Carmel. School is doing fine.
I can just add, that the girls from my kid's grammar school almost all went to Mt. Carmel and Dominican. Within two years, five of them had transferred from Mt. Carmel to Chappelle.

But this crap that one is superior to the other chaps my arse. Does anyone think that MCA is teaching some "superior" curriculum that Chapelle doesn't know about

From an outsiders perspective............. I visited both schools last fall for volleyball games. The Chapelle girls acted like they didn't know who our school was. Kinda looked down on us.
OTOH, we lost to Mount Carmel in the playoffs at their place and their girls and fans didn't seem as snobby.
My preference based on fricking volleyball............Mount Carmel

They had some wokeness issues and the tuition went from absurd to outrageous. A lot of those Ursuline/Dominican girls have ended up at Chapelle and MCA

They have all lost enrollment, some more than others. Dominican hasn't fallen as much as others.

FIrst off, let me say when it comes to friends and families who switched catholic schools in the middle of high school, almost 100% of the time it was because the parents pushed the kid into their original choice.
Let the kid pick.
I would rather a daughter attend Chapelle over a son attending Rummel.
Chapelle has lost a LOT of enrollment from 20-30 years ago, but they seemed to have leaned into that. They are focusing on smaller class sizes, using extra space for more specialized needs (labs, etc), and adding a personal touch. Everyone I know who attends Chapelle raves about it... but they are all kids who would thrive in a smaller, more intimate environment.
Mt Carmel is what it always was: a large school with a huge engaged alumni base and a ton of traditions. It pulls from all over the area so you get a good cross-section of students. Being a legacy is absolutely a plus there. Big on school spirit. If you get into all the class contest / mascot stuff, play sports there, etc, you will have no problem fitting right in and being successful. If you are more of a loner, there isn't anyone that is going to pull you in.
