Who's your backup center in this scenario?
Me personally, I would bring back JV to be the back and have Karlo as the 3rd string but we all know willie wont play JV so I'd try to find someone with the MLE to play backup. Maybe Goga Bitadze, he played well for the magic when WCJ was down

Trade some freaking picks. There aren't enough minutes in the game to develop the guys we got, trade them and BI for someone that is an immediate impact player. I don't know who that is, but just do SOMETHING instead of sitting on your asses.
I hated on the Wolves for that Gobert trade. Honestly thought it was just an awful trade. But damn if the didn't go from the play in to the 3 seed. They said screw the draft, let's win now and went out and got a difference maker. It looked like an overpay but as a fan, I'd rather my team do that than running it back with the same team year after year when that same team isn't even on the brink of doing anything special. I doubt there are many Wolves fans right now going "man, I sure would rather get eliminated in the play in and still have those picks". They have no draft capital but their outlook is 3x as good as ours.
God it sucks seeing these teams with timelines that should in theory be behind ours wave at us as they blow by.

Dumping a productive guy on a 1.9 million dollar contract because another guy who has shown you nothing might develop or might now.
1) You have to pay him in one year and that wont be 2 million dollars.
2) Hawk Offensively is light years better than Jose. Defensively Jose is light years better than Hawk. So it comes down to the old thought exercise of what is easier to teach?
So at least to me you are okay with stunting another year of Hawks growth? If thats the case then cool thats what you want. I am simply telling you that im not good with kicking the can down the road another year.
I never once said Jose was a bad player, im simply saying Hawk will be the better player.

Down voted for even suggesting to trade jose/not pick up his option at 1.9 mil
I think I am finally in the trade Ingram camp.
He just is so up and down. At the max he would make 42 mil. I just don't see it.

said it in another thread but im trading BI, Nance and whatever picks are necessary for Dejounte and Okongwu. Move CJ to 6th man and see if you can move him near the deadline.
Those would be great moves. I've always been super high on okongwu
Just don't know why the hawks would do it. I guess if they liked Ingram but i just don't see it. I feel like the pels would almost have to take a downgrade talent wise if they trade Ingram.
The fit of the player would be better. I'd almost take a less talented player that play 100% all the time and doesn't get injured.

So you are going to let him just walk?

Not keep Jose? Are you fricking crazy?
He's one of the only ones I want to keep.
Zion, Herb, Trey, Jose, Hawkins, Dyson
The rest can get fricked

How does Dejounte fit next to Herb? Dude is not a jump shooter to say the least, that seems like a pretty odd fit. Less spacing
Murray is a much better fit than Ingram, he shot 7+ 3PA per game this season.

So Mac just brought this up, and it was almost the exact hypo I was going to do (damnit), so I will credit him.
Let's say you move BI/Nance + Picks for Trae and Ogonkwu
What do you then move CJ for? Bench depth? Young talent? picks?
I'd want a decent backup big, a good bench scorer, and a pick.

Hawk is already one of the better 3 point shooters on the team, if you want to point to hit shooting percentage, look at the shots he takes. He's not sitting in a corner wide open taking 3's. He definitely needs more minutes next season.
That being said, I wouldn't turn down Jose's option because of that

Yes so I can get Hawk more minutes now and not later.
I am trying to understand why you want to give developmental minutes to a guy who you just said wouldnt be on the team in a year?

good ole Pels talk and the 3.
Just shoot more 3's, it'll fix everything.
Nevermind the fact that this guy is a career 35% 3 point shooter and has never had a season with a TS% higher than BI's career average.
We'll be better b/c he takes 3 more 3 pointers a game than BI.
And i'm not saying i wouldn't mind getting Murray, but stop with the "just shoot more 3's" mentality. Yes i want a guy that will shoot more 3's than BI, but i want him to be elite.
Lavine is a career 38% 3 point shooter. attitude problem, but a better fit talent wise.
MPJ is the guy we should be talking about. 41% career 3 point shooter. Could easily take 8 to 10 a game here. And he is the small ball 5 we need. Can also get his own shot off anytime he wants.
I don't think Denver would want BI and his upcoming contract to replace MPJ, but we can definitely get the piece they want from another team using BI.

I see our core as:
Zion
Herb
Trey
Dyson
Jose
Hawk
As much as I want to put BI in there, it just can't happen. He's too expensive and too unrelieble.
With that group of 6 in mind you need productivity from:
Center
Back up center
Wing/PF
Center free agent market kind of sucks but you can go all in on someone like Claxton who provides rebounding and shot blocking that Jonas doesn't. The backup 5 you can go cheap and young like Bamba. I think the ideal situation is we trade CJ or BI for KAT. BI makes more sense for the TWolves so let's say he goes out.
At the wing go get someone like Doug McDermott who's a career 40% 3 point shooter.
That gives you:
CJ/Jose
Herb/Dyson/Hawk
Trey/McDermott
Zion/JRE/Lidell
KAT/Bamba
That gives you three remaining spots. Would love to bring Matt Ryan back and then 2 two ways.

Be a condescending prick.

I'm not giving him developmental minutes. I'm giving him actual minutes, because he can play, and he makes 1.9 million dollars.
You do not let that contract walk for nothing when you can keep it another year.

And if they did, why can't they just go get the guy they want without us and BI, why would they need us to make a 3 team deal?

Why would the Wolves do this?

The Wolves are in a salary crunch and most people think they have to get off of one of KAT or Gobert this offseason, with the vast majority of people thinking they'll get off of KAT.
