No lie, you could list the entire team outside of Tommy white and holman at this point

You left out Jones and Neal
Jones hasn’t been terrible, and Neal wasn’t expected to be an everyday player in that catcher rotation.

Jones hasn’t been terrible. And nobody thought we would have to count on the young guys as much. This team was always going to go as far as Hurd, Kling, and Pearson took them. Yes, as a whole there are others who have underperformed, but those 3 players have tanked completely. Jay was counting heavily on them especially Pearson and Kling. That’s why he didn’t really hit the portal hard for position players.

Yes, he was.

I would say Hurd, Kling, and Neal but we can go all 4 if you want. This is the truth though. Everybody else on the team is doing what you should have expected out of them-- or at the very least it isn't surprising. Although I am pretty surprised by Justin Loer also...
Offensively, you're getting what you should have expected from White, Jones, Travinski, Bingham, Braswell, Milazzo, Frey, Milam, Brown, Ruddell, Kucherak, and Nippolt. Even Pearson put up similar numbers last year before the postseason and wasn't a super highly ranked recruit so I'm not overly surprised by his continued mediocrity. Larson has been a nice surprise lately. Kling and Neal are supposed to be top 6 guys in the order and they can't do anything.
Pitching, Holman and Jump have given you solid performance. Hurd has been a huge disappointment. Herring has been a nice surprise. Loer's been a disappoinment. Everybody else is not surprising.

What? He was starting day one as a true freshman and started almost every game until his injury last year.

That Larson kid looks solid to me for a freshman. I think he'll be good if he sticks around.

Jones is actually doing a little better than I expected.
I admit I am too busy/lazy to look it up.....how many homers has Jones hit in SEC games vs. Non Conference? I am guessing about a 50/50 split

Jones, Braswell, Bingham, and Milam have been major disappointments also

Correct me if I am wrong but wasn’t Hurd involved with some community service work and didn’t he offer some type of donations just last year and maybe even at present - maybe having to do with his NIL money? Thought I remembered something to that effect.

That’s why this team is 3-12 in the SEC.
I'm not able to pull the actual numbers, but I get the impression that if the games ended after 3 innings, we'd still be top 5, and after 6 innings we'd still be in line to host a regional. I don't know about the games we got run-ruled (there are 3 of them), but in almost ALL the rest, we're in good shape. Usually up a run or so, and almost never down more than 1.
But then it all goes to hell. If we're up 1, we will lose by 2. Our bats die against the opponents' bullpens, while our bullpen is good to give up 2-4+ a game. Every coaching move Johnson makes- shifts in the field, pitching changes (or leaving a guy in), called bunts, pinch hitting etc- every move has been wrong.
I've never seen an LSU team so consistently fail in every aspect from the 6th inning on like this one does.

Those 2 guys hit In State and Average pitching well. SEC no Chance. Jones runs into balls when games are out of reach in SEC!

You guys keep forgetting to mention Braswell
There is a reason he was benched at USCe.

Outside of the small window in the post season last year, Hurd had been below average his entire time here.
Yes, but he’s gotten worse, amongst others

This is expected from our Juniors, not our true freshmen. Milam is going to be a problem if he continues to progress.
Right. Milam is doing his part. He is going to be so damn good for us the next couple of years.
The older guys are the ones shitting the bed.

Pearson will never amount to anything. He needs to transfer

Too many #1's and no leaders. The portal creates people who have no loyalty and no real "want to". They know they can pick up and go at any time and the don't give a shite attitude exhibited by many may be the results of winning the title last year.
