So Iran launches an attack that takes 4 hours...and basically telegraph what they are gonna do so it is relatively easy to knock them down. No casualties. And then they say, "Welp...that's it." Such a weak offensive with literally 0 element of surprise. Almost feels like some sort of fake out. Maybe a diversion. There is a motivation and a reason they did it this way. I'm just having a hard time figuring out what the angle is. Anybody else find this odd?

To see what response occurred so they can plan for future attacks.

It might be one of those things to save face with people at home. They don't really want to face the wrath of Israel and the U.S., so it was token attacks. Kind of like how Trump telegraphed his Syria strikes and bombed trash cans.

People getting worked up about an attack by Iran is laughable. Have any of you seen these arse backwards clowns in the Middle East? They’re a joke.

They helped hamas hurt Israel

Israel killed their generals the other day

Iran has to try and appear strong but they don’t really want all the smoke. It is theater for the sake of neighbors but also for their own people. This isn’t the first time.

The trick is Israel has to hold back and give the Iranian leadership the out they are looking for

Sure it does. Iran doesn't want a all out war no matter what they say. They had to respond though in order to look tough in the eyes of their people and neighbors. So they let Israel and the USA know a attack was coming by not trying to hide it very much. They sent these slow drones so their would be little to no damage so Israel wouldn't attack back hard.

the Iranian mullahs do not want to see a response of these.

they saw what happened to Soleimani. what was left of him was buried in a 5 gallon Home Depot bucket.

At the end of the day...the Iranians dont really want to die. I think theres definitely an element of throwing this out there to see 1) Who'd help Israel and 2) What the defense would look like and be deployed

I heard some commentary that this a half hearted attempt just to placate their populations and make it look like they retaliated. The hope is that this mutes the Israeli response and we settle into a new normal.

Not sure it makes 100% sense but we all know that Israel could wipe Iran off the map in under 2 weeks if they really wanted to.
