And let’s not forget about the car theft, Mr. Strict Property Rights Enforcement Guy.
Non violent property crime is hardly something that would scare me bail-wise.
And I'm fine with him being prosecuted for it. Notice when I said "my policy preference is that it shouldn't be" was only applied to the gun charge.

Car theft while armed with an automatic weapon is not “non-violent property crime”
What would’ve happened had the owner walked up? We see what happened when the cops rolled up.
Is armed robbery a violent crime?
The gun is there for a reason.

There is no violence in either.
Now had he used that gun in a robbery/carjacking? Different situation entirely. THAT is an example of a crime of violence. Whole different ballgame.

Yes, and an entirely different situation.

You want to prosecute potential crimes that weren't even committed? Think about the implications.

the guy that killed the cop was out on no bail after being caught in a stolen car with a modified pistol making it fully automatic less than 30 days ago.
are you saying the judge and DA did the right thing by releasing him on a cashless bail?
is that what you are saying? because that's what it sounds like you are saying.
it also sounds like you calling the people that think there should be some amount of bail for weapon charges "bootlickers".

Naw, ****. I can be pro limited government and also anti-“bail reform.”
Lol. You've made it well known of your indifference to police misconduct.

Yes.
In no way does that reflect on any opinion of future criminal actions, also.
Like was said in the 4A thread: those who give up liberty for security deserve neither. Living in a free society isn't always easy and has costs.

Not bootlickers. I think they pick and choose when they support things like limited government.

this guy is dead because the legal system failed him.
this is the guy you are say should be allowed on the street with zero bail.

Why wasn't the POS identified in the linked article? He isn't a minor.

New York State is. Doesn’t seem to be a lot of nationwide legal community uproar over that.

Pointing out the idiocy of no bail policies isn’t “backing the blue.” It’s backing society and order.
He's merely a contrarian troll a la cmylilwillie.
Other than maybe Dex, I know of no one who would be cool with any person or any law enforcement being frickn ambushed by a thug that should not be on the street but for judges and attorney's that SFP obviously supports.
Frick that guy GIF here. SMH

So being armed during the course of a crime does not increase penalties?
I believe it does in some cases.
Used it how? Guns are rarely used during armed robbery.
And you have made it clear you disagree with some laws, and don’t care if they are enforced, yet you nitpick on other laws that you agree with to come to the interpretation you like.

How about you judge each situation on it's own merit? Like you should judge people.

How is zero bail defensible in that situation?
OH, SFP has found a way... apparently the ONLY reason to impose bail is if the person poses a flight risk, and since this murderer had never missed a prior court date, he posed no flight risk and therefore was entitled to zero bail for his charges of armed car robbery and carrying an illegal automatic weapon.

way back in the day long before I was born, my grandparents lived across the street from the school where the shooting happened.
as soon as plans were announced that the school was going to be built, they sold that house.

Potentially for a conviction. He hasn't been convicted yet, though.
He's only been arrested and is presumed innocent for the purposes of that stage of the proceeding.
