shite. What a great movie that’s disguised as a rom-com.

It’s such a delightful film

Can’t bring myself to rewatch it . I haven’t cried that hard in a movie in a long time and haven’t since

I recommend it often to people bc it definitely flew way under the radar for a majority of people

I’m like that with The Family Man with Nick Cage.

Idk why but that movie makes me so sad at the end. I think it just hit me different because it came out when we just had our first kid and always makes you think “what if”.

Absolutely unbelievably awesome movie.

I haven’t had the balls to watch it since my son was born (4.5 years ago). I really want to but that movie ripped me to shreds before I had a kid, I can only imagine how bad it would be now.

It’s a phenomenal movie though.

I read this as "In Time" instead of "About Time" and was confused about the crying. Makes sense now that I read it correctly.

I can't hold in the tears when Justin Timberlake is trying to save his hot mom, Oliva WIlde.

The ginger was on fire picking scripts back then (2013 - 2015) -

About Time
Frank
Calvary
Unbroken
Ex Machina
The Revenant

Sure, he got pulled into the shite show that was the Star Wars sequel trilogy, but everybody deserves to cash out a couple of times.

I think this is the main social reason for time travel being implausible. As soon as it's invented, moral reality would prevent it from being used.

Kill baby Hitler, and every person born through unions created by the war disappear, along with their descendants.

Dude, the walk on the beach will DESTROY you when you watch it again.

This is a top 3 movie for me. Life-changing. “Under appreciated” doesn’t capture it.

Haven’t seen it in probably 10 years before last night. Had one son then. Now I have 3.

My dad’s getting older everyday. Apparently I am too.

The movie hits hard on the father-son relationship but also touches all family relationships. How can you not get choked up about Uncle Desmond saying “he told me he loved me at your wedding” and seeing the clear effect that Tim’s dad’s one sentence about loving his brother-in-law had on Desmond.

Like I said in the OP it’s an all time great movie disguised as an everyday RomCom.

I also want to win the lottery just to buy their house on the coast.

I don't know. I don't remember how it was marketed, but after seeing it, it's a "Field of Dreams" Father/Son movie, period. The time travel and romcomness is just there to serve the sap. And I'm with a lot of y'all, I've seen it twice--not in 10+ years--and can't bring myself to put it on again. And it's one of only 10 or so physical DVDs I have in the room. My father's still alive. How old do y'all think our sons need to be to watch it with them. With a 70-ish-old father and a 15-year-old-ish son, I'm right in the middle, connecting with both roles. I honestly don't think I could get through it trying to watch it now with either one. The right play may be to let them watch it together. I wonder how that experience would be.

Welp, the wife convinced me to watch this again this evening. We finished a little while ago and it was the most I’ve ever cried during a movie, by far. I teared up several times throughout and then those last ten minutes or so absolutely destroyed me. That was rough.

But I’ll be damned if I don’t love this movie more every single time I watch it. It’s slowly becoming one of my favorite movies ever. It’s just so incredibly well done. Excellent start to finish.

I enjoy seeing the thread pop up randomly on this movie. I’ll go months without thinking about it, see the thread and then become flooded with emotion that takes me back to that first viewing experience .

It pulls this unbelievable head fake of a cute rom-com and then the unexpected absolute mauling of your emotions when you get to the beach scene and the funeral

It’s absolutely an all time underrated movie. No question about it.

I saw this for the first time on a plane ride and almost decided against it but I'm a sucker for time travel movies plus really love Bill Nighy. So glad I watched and got so involved that when Tim runs into Margot Robbie years later and goes to her hotel room, I all but yelled "GTFO out of there and GO HOME!" on a airplane full of passengers.

Such an awesome movie whose only flaw is that it couldn't go on forever.

Not to be gay… but my wife got my my fourth wedding band in our 20 year marriage for Christmas. Lost 3 to random circumstances.

She engraved “how long will I love you?” On the inside because of my love for this movie and the scene it’s played in.

Absolute GOAT (or tied with Crazy Stupid Love) for top romantic comedy.
