Are you there with your girlfriend from the stormcast board?

I’m off every Monday. We live about 3 hours from the totality zone. I thought about driving to it, but could not stand the thought of massive traffic jams, even on back roads. Also, there’s only so many bridges crossing the river into Kentucky from the north.

You left out the major detail that the office is located in Austin/path of totality.

Won’t matter in Huntsville. It’s cloudy all day today.

The best way to view the eclipse is through a magnifying glass.

No, that's stupid. Get some of the eclipse glasses, take a break, go look at it for a few minutes, then get back to work. It's not a day-long event.

If it’s cloudy, I’m no expert but I’d imagine that would amplify the darkness when it happens so it could actually be even cooler.

Amplified darkness? Jesus Christ. You want to know what really amplifies darkness? The rotation of the Earth. This amazing astronomical phenomenon happens every evening and lasts for many hours.

I had really bad gas, so I covered my arse with a pot lid.

It was a Total Eclipse of the Fart.

I am busier today than most days tooling around on my land. Between the cattle, cleaning my shop, building a shelf and trying to get stuff taken care of before it starts raining tonight.

I don't have time to worry about an eclipse.

ooking at an eclipse is much safer than looking at a regular sun. If the sun is 95% covered, that means it's literally 20x safer to look during an eclipse than a regular sun since only 1/20th of sun will be exposed. It's not dangerous and certainly much much safer than looking at a regular sun.

We had a major meeting reset for mid week. I was glad because I was going to skip it anyways.

Dear god, I sincerely hope this is sarcasm, or I hope you are not responsible for keeping other humans alive. This is like saying Windex is safer to ingest than bleach.

I can say with a great degree of confidence, the thought of this never entered my employer's mind, and won't

Unless you’re located in a place that is being over ran with visitors coming to see the 3 minute cloudy eclipse, I don’t see why any legit business would close for an entire day.

I don’t see why anyone would take off the entire day for this either but that’s just me. I’m also annoyed with the people using this as a reason to sell tacky t shirts and glasses. Nothing surprises me anymore

You’re so busy that you’re busy talking about how busy you are. Must be tough finding time to post and read here opposed to looking at the eclipse for a few minutes out of your extremely busy day.
