Don't know if I would have this in front of your Honorable Mentions. I was really looking forward to seeing this and was severely disappointed. Boring, too dark to see anything, and the ending was meh.

Any of those other than Thanksgiving kind of old school horror like Texas Chainsaw/Scream/not possession style? I love old school horror, just don't get them very often.

VHS85, really? I had my doubts about that one because the several before it had sucked so much.

I’m usually not aligned with your rankings, but give me a reason to check out VHS85 and I may give it a shot.

I really enjoyed VHS 85, the stories are pretty fun and the Dreamkill one is really creepy. And the virtual reality one is disturbing in a way. The lake one is cool and the earthquake one is pretty decent too. And this is coming from someone who thinks all of them after VHS 2 have been dog shite.

And I liked Dark Harvest a lot too, cool setting and a lot darker tone than I was anticipating.

Haven’t seen it BUT heard it compared to Lucio Fulci movies like City of the Living Dead. If that’s the case I’m all in.

My 8yo son gives Five Nights at Freddy's two enthusiastic thumbs up, and an Academy nomination for Picture of the Year.

I gotta be the only person that didn’t like Talk to Me. Just thought it was more disturbing and gross than scary. I don’t really like physical horror and the kid bashing his head against the wall was a little much. The dog makeout part was weird as hell too

Evil dead rises was fun to see in theatre but was expecting a little more. Fiancée hated it

Megan was ok. Haven’t see the rest.

I’ll submit:

Run Rabbit Run (Netflix sleeper)
Jagged Mind (Hulu sleeper)
No One Will Save You (solid alien movie)
Dark Harvest (fun Halloween movie)
5 Nights at Freddie’s (fun)
It Lives Inside (meh but worth a watch)

Edit: Just noticed you have a couple of the above mentioned later in the post. My b

When Evil...

And I've rarely been as confused by a trailer as that.

Kudos to them for that, nothing spoiled but expectations of supernatural weirdness.

Was a damn good flick. Surprising for me as I hadn't seen or heard anything about the movie until watching it.

As for SFP's When Evil Lurks.. it had a great start, but fell flat on it's face.

It's like they shot their wad with some pretty good ideas to make it through half of the movie, then just mailed in the last 45 minutes with a "what the hell is going on right now?" ending.

Kinda sad because it had my attention for the 1st half. Loved the dog running ape shite in the neighborhood.

M3GAN was great, but I don’t view it as a horror film. It was pure comedy.
