Since always.

Y’all sure didn’t have any issues when this a big deal in the nfl couple years ago.
Yes, I did. Although the NFL is not the same thing.

When you have large portions of stadiums booing to the shite out of players being disrespectful during the national anthem, something tells me many many many people agree with me
That doesn't mean your support of restricting personal freedoms is any less idiotic.
The Cowboys are a private organization. They can institute whatever rules they want. LSU is a public university, and our governor is a public official. Yet another example of someone who has no idea how the First Amendment works.

I ain't mad at nobody.
I wished our governor had researched the past 20 or so years and saw that a vast majority of the teams are not on the court prior to the anthem.
I think he jumped on a train going nowhere before he realized he'd got on the wrong train.

Just think, Jan 6th, when insurectionists were storming the Capital... Really, all we had to do to stop it was play the National Anthem.. Those patriotic traitors would have had to stand there with there hand over their heart...because they love America so much...

Landry is power drunk, enabled by the state GOP committee that nominated him without going to the voters knowing that the Dems couldn’t field a candidate that mount any challenge. He was put in place by a cabal, not the voters.
Now he’s going off as he doesn’t answer to the public.
Time to blow up the good-ol-boy system.

It's amazing that he had no comment when he actually attended an LSU basketball game in person one week before the Iowa game.

Yup. Because he didn’t even notice. What a Patriot!

Lose scholarship versus imprisonment or death. Those are the same…
You're right, those aren't the same.
But their restriction of personal freedoms are the same.
The histrionics and hyperboles in this thread and in every other one started since this happened take away from any valid and constructive criticism being made by the more level headed posters.

The antithesis of free speech.
Should coaches let the players protest or stand in honor which also can’t happen when a coach/public employee doesn’t allow players to be on the court to do either one?
Unless facts have changed on basketball team doing this every time in past 3 years and that the timing of anthem is inconsistent each game especially with television the team being 100% with this while other teams have sometimes been on court would take some effort and not just the scheduled pregame routine coincidentally always having team off the court with every inconsistent starting time of anthem. This again is dependent on the initial reasoning put out by some here that it has been every game and that the timing of the anthem is inconsistent with tv and across the differing venues.

Just think, during the summer of love all we really had to do to stop the billions lost and the violence was play the National Anthem. Those pieces of crap rioters and looters would have just kneeled or gone back inside…

Not My Governor ! Did Not Vote for Him ! Cannot support somebody that far Right !
He is a wanna be. He wants to pay the wealthy to send their children to private schools. This is just the beginning.

Kills me how these Trump wannabes can be so stupid. No one wins on the anthem issue, if people don't want to sign, stand, or listen, they don't have to, period. I know you can't help it, you wanna send troops to Texas and now the Anthem. Keep it up fool, eventually someone will call your bluff, and you'll be revealed as a national embarrassment.

I know I’m in the minority here, but why can’t players be out, respecting our nation? Don’t give me pre-game nonsense, times can be moved to make it fit.
Players, especially players at Public Universities, need to be out during the national anthem. Taxpayers support that institution.
These are students that need to be taken down a peg. They are not the end-all-be-all and the world doesn’t revolve around them.

Your statement is incompatible.

Every time you see a sporting event, you need proof of each persons fake virtue patriotism before the competition begins? Is this for high school events as well? High School theater, debate, etc? Middle school? T-ball? Local pickle ball tournament? At the start of church service? Don’t you want proof the priest is a patriot?
Before your wife takes a shite on your toilet bowl?
So if some awesome freak athlete isn’t a patriot or even an american, you just can’t enjoy the completion because it bothers you that one person isn’t American?
Are you ok?

how about the governor of Louisiana be pro-Louisiana athletes.
this was not a political statement. this was a scheduling snafu. I stand and put my hand over my heart when they play the national anthem.
I don’t feel the need to be in every room where it’s played, nor is it disrespectful to be doing something else.
Jeff Landry did what Jeff Landry always does, put winning political points ahead of his constituents .
