If Clark and his family skip the plastic surgeon for a year they’d have enough to pay for the upgrades.

More jurisdictions should follow Jackson County’s lead.

Great job by KC. Team has made money hand over fist during this current run. Insane that the expectation is that they would still go to the city with their hat in their hand for a handout all in the name of raising ticket prices on those same tax payers

Best part is that the Arrowhead renovations would’ve largely benefited the premium seating areas.

Let these mega wealthy owners self-finance in exchange for a tax deduction after the fact based on the local tax revenue earnings. Sports teams are not public works so they shouldn’t get direct taxpayer funding.

This is just a different way of skinning the same cat.

Make them pay for the stadium straight up. No tax breaks. They have billions of dollars, they’ll be fine. The incentive is the huge stadium that they will get to profit from for years. This idea that we need to seduce billionaires with free taxes and tax payer money is just so silly.

Daniel Jones made around 40 mil last season. All the evidence needed that these owners don't need taxpayer help. Elites hoarding all the money and using fans idiocy(not in this case thankfully) as the bargaining chip.

I was there last week and was charged an arena tax. $8 for the rental car and $6 for the hotel. And they don't even have a pro team there

May be early so not connecting the dots...where are you talking about? I thought we were talking about KC.

Those are both absolutely true. Fleecing the public for stadiums has been going on forever.

People shite on Stan Kroenke but he build SoFi with his own money. I think the city/state only paid for some infrastructure improvement stuff.

The majority of Allegiant was paid for by Davis.

Owners arent dumb, they are businessmen. They will spend money on a stadium if they can get a return on investment. You can get a return in Los Angeles and Vegas. You cant in Kansas City or St Louis.

frick em. They are making billions and expect Joe six pack the taxpayer who can't afford tickets for his family to attend games in said new stadium to pay more of his hard earned money to fund the stadium.

frick all these grifting billionaire sports owners. The general public needs to always VOTE NO and tell these owners to work harder to fund their own stadiums.

Judging by the crowds at these games, he should drink less and spend more wisely.

as a KC area resident, this is GOOD!

People are finally waking up to the shakedown. It would be rough to see the Chiefs and Royals move but it would be a very poor reflection on those franchises, not the people of KC.

I would favor one option if I was a voter in a situation like this. The team can receive taxpayer money in exchange for equity in the form of partial team ownership. State, county, whoever puts up the money should be offered the option to own a part of the team.

But there's no way any major sports league or owner would agree to something like that.

Way to completely miss the point, chief.

This is why I felt there was value in not having teams in LA. Who is the new potential target used as a threat?

The Hunt family has an estimated net worth of almost 25 Billion dollars. LMAO

Given the rate Chiefs players and coaches keep doing stupid things that result in them plowing into people with their cars he will need that.

They may jump around from one Kansas City suburb to another but neither are leaving the metro area.
