Neither will leave the KC metro. Royals may move to KCK. I doubt the chiefs leave the Truman sports complex.

Let these mega wealthy owners self-finance in exchange for a tax deduction after the fact based on the local tax revenue earnings. Sports teams are not public works so they shouldn’t get direct taxpayer funding.

I love how the NFL has record viewership, most revenue ever, etc

Yet somehow they want the public to pay for their stadiums

I was there last week and was charged an arena tax. $8 for the rental car and $6 for the hotel. And they don't even have a pro team there

Worst part is they passed that tax in like 2007 and they're still paying for it.

This.

Lucas and more importantly Gov. Mike Parson will move heaven and earth to keep the Chiefs.

I thought the NFL was more popular than ever. They should be swimming in money. Every team should be building brand new stadiums as we speak.

Their tax dollars will instead go to some illegals or to indoctrinate their kids on lgbtq+ stuff

I think the Royals move to the Northland before moving over to Legends (KCK). Agree with the Chiefs take. No way Missouri lets the Chiefs leave.

It is.

They are.

But billionaires horde their money and treat their nickels like manhole covers.

Yep, frick them. How about the billionaire pay for his own damn stadium upgrades? I already pay $650+ for a ticket for one game.

Also, blackmailing us about moving the team if we vote no? That only makes me want to vote no more. Suck my dick, Clark Hunt.

ETA: The Hunt family has an estimated net worth of almost 25 Billion dollars. LMAO

This vote was more of a no to the Royals and not much to do with the Chiefs. The Royals plan kept changing where they wanted the new stadium to be. Then at the last minute they decided they wanted it downtown and a lot of people don't want it there. I think the Royals owner did this on purpose to sabotage the proposal and have an excuse to move the team. The Royals plan was so bad that former Royals legend Frank White who's now a politician in KC was very outspoken against it. If the Royals move F'm I don't care but the Chiefs still have years left on their lease and no way the state loses another NFL team. I don't have a problem with team owners making a lot of money but then they shouldn't have tax payers funding their stadiums. BTW the vote was...

Yes 56,606 41.9%
No 78,352 58.1%
