NFL prices are out of control but that’s pretty much across the league. Arrowhead, or Arrowhead 2.0, will be packed either way, at least for the next decade.

Ummm ye you can. Follow the same model as Truist Park in ATL. I don't know who owns it, but that place makes hella money. Tons of restaurants and bars inside the park and it is always packed

The Braves own the Battery while Cobb County owns the stadium (and the tax liability)

No more Jackson County for sure: Wife of Royals owner reacts to elections on Facebook

quote:

The wife of Kansas City Royals owner John Sherman says both the Royals and Chiefs are done negotiating with Jackson County and the community would be lucky if both teams wind up in Kansas.
Marny Sherman’s comments came Wednesday morning to posts on her Facebook page after Jackson County voters overwhelmingly defeated a sales tax referendum to help finance a new Royals ballpark in the Crossroads and renovations to Arrowhead Stadium. Wednesday morning, after Jackson County voters overwhelmingly defeated the stadium sales tax referendum to fund a new Crossroads ballpark and help maintain Arrowhead Stadium,
Marny Sherman was on her Facebook page responding to comments. "Unfortunately neither team will work with Jackson County again," she said in a comment on a public Facebook post. "They had been working behind the scenes for two years attempting to get a location approved. Which was I think Frank White’s plan all along. In any case most unfortunate for sports fans in KC. The lack of leadership has lost the city two treasured assets. I mean if you don’t support the Chiefs after 3 Super Bowl wins why would they stay?
We will be lucky if both teams wind up in Kansas. At least still in the area!” While she does not speak on behalf of either team, one key person involved in the negotiations says Marny Sherman's comments are spot on.

Maybe Hunt and Sherman should stop mooching off tax money.

when they win, when they were bad, they had horrible, actual attendance, worse than rams, when it came to % of buts in seats, and Rams owners tried to lose to piss the fan base off.

Talk about not reading the room. Way to go Marny. This makes you look even worse like a spoiled billionaire. Oops. That is exactly what you are. Entitled... Why not explain why the change to the Crossroads. Also, not a good look when one of the co - owners of the KC Star Building is owned by Tony Privitera who is an owner in Mark One Electric but his sister is named the majority owner so they can obtain minority contracts. Guess who would get that contract?

Sherri Privitera - She is the Senior Principal at Populous.

Populous is the architecural firm that made unverified claims of bad concrete ( concrete cancer ) at Royals stadium. They will also design the NEW stadium.

Funny how individuals pushed back on this "concrete cancer" and then the Royals dropped that issue.

The real important question is what does Gracie Hunt think?

Bears mentioning that Joe Robbie built a stadium for the Dolphins with his own money - and he was nowhere near as wealthy in 1983 as the Hunts are in 2024.

Of course, the federal government basically stole the stadium from the Robbie children after his death with confiscatory estate taxes.

Same as it ever was.

Al Davis wanted Angelenos to pay for a new stadium for a decade or at least upgrade the Coliseum.

LA people said, nah we're good, we don't need the NFL....USC is good enough.

The Hunt’s are one of the richest families in America, but they’re still begging Kansas and Missouri taxpayers for money to build a stadium.

Besides complete shitholes like Fedex Field or Oakland Coliseum, players don't really care about new stadiums. And owners don't care about it for ego, they care about the money.

Billionaire owners trying to drain money from hard working citizens is a story old as time, good for KC people.
