In the least bit of surprising news today, Sacha Baron Cohen doesn't just play an a-hole on TV, he's also an a-hole in real life:

quote:

Rebel Wilson has revealed that Sacha Baron Cohen is the Hollywood star who has been sending her threats to stop her from publishing her upcoming memoir “Rebel Rising.”

On social media, the Australian actress had previously referred a “massive a**hole” whom she had once worked with, adding that the unidentified star had hired a crisis PR team and had started sending her threats after she claimed she would dedicate a whole chapter to him in her memoir and expose his behavior.

In a new Instagram update on March 25, she wrote: “I will not be bullied or silenced with high priced lawyer or PR crisis managers. The ‘a**hole’ that I am talking about in ONE CHAPTER of my book is Sacha Baron Cohen.”

In older posts Wilson alleged, “Now the a**hole is trying to threaten me. He’s hired a crisis PR manager and lawyers. He’s trying to stop press coming out about my new book. But the book WILL come out and you will all know the truth.”

Variety has reached out to Baron Cohen’s publicists for comment.

In a March 15 Instagram post, Wilson had said: “When I first came to Hollywood, people were like, yeah, ‘I have a no a**hole policy, means like, yeah, I don’t work with a**holes.’ I was like, ‘Oh yeah. I mean, that sounds sensible or logical. But then it really sunk in because I worked with a massive a**hole and yeah, now I definitely have a no a**holes policy.”

Wilson and Baron Cohen starred together in 2016 film “The Brothers Grimsby.”

Speaking on a radio show in 2014, Wilson suggested that he had pressured her to “go naked” in the comedy, with her threatening to call the agent they share and tell her that he was “harassing” her.

“Every day he’s like, ‘Just go naked, it will be funny. Remember in Borat when I did that naked scene? It was hilarious,’” Wilson said. “On the last day, I thought I’d obviously won the argument and he got a body double to do the naked scene.”

However, when it came to shoot the final scene in “Grimsby,” in the radio interview Wilson claimed that Baron Cohen asked her to, “Stick your finger up my butt.” But when she pointed out that it wasn’t in the script, she claimed he said, “Look, I’ll just pull down my pants, you just stick your finger up my butt, it’ll be a really funny bit.”

His movie Borat was excellent because it was very unique stuff. I hate formula movie making. The only bit I didn't like was him running around naked for 3 minutes like it was just to fill time.
His subsequent movies were no good. Similar to Pee Wee Herman who was great with Big Adventure and flopped with later release of Big Top Pee Wee.

He's always been a slimeball. Remember when he dressed as a country singer and tried to get fans at a rodeo to cheer for racist comments - only to be booed off the stage.

Cohen is a hack anyway. Candid camera was funnier.

2 things can be true at once. Cohen can be a complete douchebag (he is) while also being funny (he is). The original Ali G series is some damn funny television, as are the 2 movies that followed. His role in Talladega Nights is hilarious. His shtick did become stale though, and the stuff since those have not been very good.

I can't stand the prick, but I'll watch and laugh at those original gems.

I seem to be one of the few people who don't find Cohen funny at all. I'm ok with this.

For some of us, it always was.

And shite like wrestling a fat naked guy in a hotel room is just cheap dick humor, a sign of no imagination.

I don't care who you are, but if you talk like this in real life I can't take anything you say seriously

Nah. I'm right there with you. His comedy just never was my thing. He also seemed to become more mean spirited as he went along, which I found distasteful.

the great Dave Portnoy is the only one who rightly pointed out that Donald J. Trump was one of the very few celebrities who was not fooled / duped by SBC's characters.
