I’m 51 and don’t feel middle-aged yet. Maybe I’m in denial
I don’t have many aches and pains and never had the urge to buy corvettes or big boats or anything else.

I'm in my early 50s and I don't feel middle aged. I don't have any aches or pains. When I see people my age in stores with purple, edematous, swollen ankles I'm thankful I made better choices.

The age halfway between when you are born and when you die…

I’d say 35-40 is middle aged.
But I’d also add that life beyond the middle age mark is far greater than before the mark.
There’s a lot to be said about aging gracefully, with maturity, financial security, being completely comfortable with the person you’ve become as you’ve aged, as well as peace of mind- that makes the second half of this life much more meaningful than the first.
Or maybe that’s just me

I read recently that the average lifespan for an American male is 74.
I'm 37. The math checks out. I'm middle age.

I started to feel non-youthful in my late 30’s and I didn’t start rapid decline until my mid-fifties. So I’m going to say 40 to 55. I could go as high as 65, because at 61 I’m still involved in what most consider daredevil sports, but I’m starting to suck at them.

35-44: Adult

I’m 40+ but young in my career and thanks to the gym, in the best shape of my life. I have a toddler and have way more energy than her and I look better than I did when I was 30. Middle age for me 45-50. With medicine and exercise I’ll live to 90-100

This sort of desperate cope is a sign that someone has reached middle age.

Do you wake up at night to pee? Do you get irrationally pissed off at trivial shite? Do you not know the names of any of the current A List celebrities? You're middle aged baw.

56 and feel like I'm still climbing uphill!

3 months shy of 58... don't feel middle aged... well, except for my knees. They feel quite ancient. Everything else is ticking along nicely. And, according to my wife, my mind is still that of a teenager at times... so there's that.

I’m 57 and feeling kinda old. Not really physically, but socially and emotionally. It’s like everything that I thought was important in life has become not so important in the last decade.
Same…

But isn’t that the beauty of getting older- sifting through what you thought mattered and leaving behind what doesn’t. Focusing on your new priorities and not giving a second thought to the priorities of previous decades?
I have enjoyed every day of aging.
If nothing else - it’s refining and refreshing.
I will add that I am very intentional in being the healthiest person I can be at my post- middle aged self.

I don’t think about age, I have to try to remember how old I am most of the time.

Avg age of both sexes is 76. Half that is 38. Bookend that with what you think is acceptable and there you go

40 for men. Once here, half of your life is in the rear view. At least.
